“Do you like BEDBUGS?... You CAN find them here !”

My family and I stayed here just for ONE night. We were looking for a hotel near from Downtown and the University. It was late night to kept searching and this hotel was the nearest we could find so we didn't have another option. We just needed to stay One night because at the next day I'd recieved my new apartment.... thoughs "It's Ok, just for one night". The gave us one of the last rooms in the hotel with a particular fetid odor. There were not only black died insects in the floor but also Bedbugs everywhere in room. Unfortunately, at that moment we DID NOT know anything about that kind of BUGS. One of the members of my family leaned in bed just about an hour, then she started to feel itching and some hives appeared. We thought it was a mosquitoe, but later it seemed like an allergy. Although we immediately noticed to the manager and told him about the situation, HE DID NOT tell us WHAT the bugs are, he just gave us a new room which was one of the first rooms of the hotel (WHY DID NOT THEY GIVE THAT ROOM BY THE FIRST TIME??) and ignored the signs of the insect bites as if nothing happened. Thank GOD we had a medicine in our backpack that the member of my family took, and he/she felt better. Although they gave us a "cleaned" room, we didn't slept peacefully. Later talked about it with some firends here in El Paso and told us about the Bedbugs, we were so scared about our new apartment might gotten infected also. Now we had to fumigate ALL our stuff and buy a vaporizing machine to be sure about keeping safe of that epidemy.

“Excellent accomodations for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

Hotel offers complimentary breakfast, and offers free wi-fi in all rooms. Front Desk clerks are professional and courteous. Check-out time is 11 am, and I've requested a late check out at noon on a few occasions, and they always accomodate my request! Hotel is within walking distance to a bus line. The only negative thing I can say about the place is that it could use some renovating, as a lamp in the room was hanging loose from the wall. Also, I noticed a musty smell in the hallways when entering building, but otherwise alright. Hotel is 2 stories and you have to use the stairs to get to the second floor...they should install an elevator to help out the disabled, such as myself. Not a bad place, will stay here again!

“Awful hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 April 2011

Stayed as part of a 2010 roadtrip, booked online. The front office didn't have our booking and didn't do much to help us out. Room was disgusting and unkempt, and the TV didn't work. The parking lot outside was home a hangout for a number of beer-drinking young men and women throwing beer cans about.

Overall, the hotel is so bad that it somehow manages to bring the down-at-the-heels strip club across the street into disrepute.

“This place is a dump!! Mgmt not helpful.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

It was late. We were tired. I was given a an AARP discount of $3.00 on a room with two double beds. Instead of going directly to the room, we got something to eat and then got to our room. The hall carpet leading to the rooms was filthy. In our room we found there was no remote control, but went to bed. The next morning, I went to make coffee and there was coffee, but no coffee pot. After I was dressed, I went to the breakfast room and said something to the clerk. His comment was "Good. I love to have something to get after housekeeping about." When I returned to the room, my friend commented "we're out of toilet paper." When I went for my next cup of coffee, I told the manager, who was sitting in the dining room doing paper work, about the problems and asked for a reduction. We were given an additional $2.50 off. And the clerk mentioned on our way out that "housekeeping" hadn't been in the day before. This place was disgusting.

“If you're picky, go to Marriott.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2009

I was half-way home (having done 579.8 miles) on a motorcycle trip from Austin to Sedona, AZ and back. I'd researched my room choices both before and during, and I chose the Hojo because I like what they have to offer (as I'd stayed at the one on Lucky Lane in Flagstaff the two nights before). Nice, clean room, interior entrance, quiet, at a good price (+/- $50, AARP rate). Great staff. Free wifi. Soft bed & pillows. One block off I-10. The breakfast could have been a bit better (typical Hojo, but no waffles), but I filled my belly before doing the 584 miles back to the Holy Land. I'm not picky; give me a clean place to stay at a good price. Hojo does that for me.
