“Mold & Outdated-but staff tries hard”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Mold around the vents, obvious water spots on ceiling, the heat did not always work. Despite all this the staff tries really hard to please. It's almost a shame they have to work in such an envt, b/c the staff deserves a 5/5 the hotel itself facilities is a 2/5... the pool area looked nice and the lobby area looked decent enough and clean. The free drinks, snacks and breakfast are huge perks, which is likely the only thing that is keeping customers coming or staying here. I do not plan on returning, but for the price, you get alot of extras. The only quite rooms for light sleepers are along the back part of the hotel. Avoid the sides facing the road as there is too much traffic noise. I almost checked out of the hotel the noise was so distracting at night. The facility itself actually needs to be CLOSED or condemned. I'm sure the mold and water spots are some sort of health code violations. Please update the building and get rid of the mold to be worthy of the kind, polite staff that must work there. NOT HILTON OR EMBASSY SUITES QUALITY AT ALL.

Room Tip: light sleepers should choose a room along the back wall if you have to stay at this hotel

“nice hotel, big rooms, good breakfast, slow elevators”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

hotel is nice, rooms are big and clean. beds were comfortable. shower worked well. large selection for breakfast, including made-to-order eggs/omelettes. hotel staff was a little less than helpful at times. elevators were very slow and sometimes were out of service. decent pool and exercise room. hot tub was also out of service.

Room Tip: we always stayed in rooms facing Juarez and the border... pretty view at night of the lights in mex...

Thank you TODC

Sorry about the speed of the elevators, we are a vintage property and our in the planning stage of a full make over including elevators.

Our hot tub gets an extreme amount of use and must be taken out of service for cleaning, I checked and it was down for that reason.

I noticed your comment regarding the staff, if you wish I can be contacted at the hotel and we can discuss your experience so I can correct the problem.

Thank you, for choosing Embassy Suite El Paso

“ewww....bugs..”

We stayed in this hotel this weekend to attend the Sunbowl. The hotel itself is older, but looked clean from the front entrance and check in was quick. We got to our room and settled in, some, the beds are small! This room is for 6 and there are only full sized beds, we also had bugs in our room. Roaches? water bugs? GROSS!! I have never been in a hotel where I'd seen bugs in the rooms....yuck!
The breakfast was nice...the pool was decent (when you could get towels) and the TVS where horrible, the one in the bedroom didn't work, and the other one was blurry...
All in all I wouldn't recommend this hotel or stay there again.. They need to clean up their bugs!

Room Tip: Look elsewhere

“Despite all the perks, it was bad.”

Usually, I love Embassy Suites, for two obvious reasons. Happy Hour and Made to Order Breakfast. So I chose this hotel, as I had an early flight out of town the next morning, and it was less than 2 miles from the airport.

I also usually like the rooms at the Embassy Suites, but this is a very old hotel, and the rooms don't have a good feel to them. I got to experience the shabby infrustructure first hand. I discovered right away that the toilet in my room didn't flush properly.

I had a 3 AM wake-up call for an early flight the next morning, so yes, I was in bed early. But I was awakened by repeated pounding on my door. I finally got up to see what was going on, but whoever it was was gone. 2 minutes later, my phone rang. It was the front desk asking if they could gain access to my room to check out if a leak in the room below me was coming from broken pipes in my room. I explained I was already asleep and they said never mind.

About 10 minutes later, there was a bang, bang, bang, of maintenance working on the pipes. So much for a decent night's sleep. And I thought that's what you're supposed to do at a hotel.

On the positive side, the Happy Hour was nice. It's a nice roomy bar area. Also, if you have to leave before breakfast, there is a 24 hour IHOP right next door.

Bottom line. I MIGHT stay there again because of the perks, but it is my least favorite Embassy property I have ever stayed at.

First let me apologize for disturbing your nights sleep, this was an emergency has we experienced a water leak inside the walls that connect the plumbing to each room. Unfortunately room below yours was flooding and my maintenance staff had to check all the rooms above. The banging was from them opening the wall to stop the flooding.

We are an older Embassy Suites and from time to time have conditions that happen unexpectedly.

The hotel is currently in the planning stages for a complete renovation in the near future.

Happy to hear you enjoy our Happy Hour service and atrium area.

Thank you for your comments
