“Clean, comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

This is a good choice of budget hotel. It is located on the busy Montana Avenue which is one of the main roads in El Paso and on which there are numerous restaurants, stores, bars and other hotels. As such, it is a convenient location. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean, as is the bathroom. There is a television, fridge and micro-wave oven in the room. I found reception staff quite helpful. There was a photo on the reception desk showing customers that the Motel will soon be renovated in which case the rooms should be even better. The only downside is that there is no breakfast, so you leave in the morning on an empty stomach, and it is quite expensive if you take this into account. Yes there are cheaper hotels in El Paso, but some of them are filthy dumps.

“Not a Hilton or Marriot but.......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011 via mobile

The room is clean and peaceful. Yeah, outdated and no flair at all but it's not hard to manipulate the front desk into a cheaper rate if you know how to talk. I probably would not put the wife and kids here but when traveling alone, I recommend it.

“Find Another Motel, This One Disappoints In All Aspects.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2010

The reviews I read of this motel led me to believe it would be a great choice. Not the case. When I made my reservation online, I made a note of my preference for a 1st floor room (as well as a smoking room w 1 king-sized bed). When I checked in, they had me on the 2nd floor. To change this, she offered me a handicapped room (non-smoking, but she offered an ashtray and said it would be ok if I smoked inside it), which I accepted, thinking it was the only option. When I pulled up to the room, I saw that there were 2 open rooms next door to mine, so I asked about switching to one of those. She told me that those were held for reservations. I reminded her (starting to get very upset) that I also had a reservation, and had requested a 1st floor room and would like her to re-assign me. She then found me a 1st floor smoking room w 1 king bed, right across the parking lot from the 1st room I was given. It was ridiculous that I had to go through that crap just to get the room for which I originally made my reservation.
The room had old carpet, torn in spots, peeled away from the wall in spots, stained in spots. The pillows seemed to be stuffed with torn pieces of foam, not quality pillow stuffing. Very uncomfortable. There were no convenient electrical outlets, i had to pull the mattress (and box springaway fromthe wall and unplug one of the bedside lamps to use 2 plugs (computer and heating pad). The internet connection was spotty, I couldn't use Netflix because the connection kept 'slowing'. I just found a condom wrapper on the floor next to the bed (in the foot of space between the bed and wall), as I went to take photos of the torn carpet. SO GROSS. I would take credit for it if it were mine, but it isn't.
There was a lot of door slamming in the room next to mine, seemed to be a high-traffic room (drug dealer or hooker, maybe?). Ther was a lot of loud traffic in the parking lot, to the extent that made me call the front desk and ask if there was something happening. I very seriously considered calling the police.
In short, this motel was complete crap. it felt unsafe, uncomfortable and unfriendly. Perhaps, instead of "leaving the light on for you", this Motel 6 should turn it off for good.

“Better than what you'd expect from Motel 6”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2010

We stayed here for one night while on a road trip. This is a very nice Motel 6; definitely way above average compared to the usual Motel 6. It is clean, has a mini-fridge and microwave, iron/ironing board, hairdryer. Our bathroom has a full bathtub. All of these are not usually available in other Motel 6; probably this one is nicer as it's geared towards business travelers. It also offers FREE wifi, unlike most other Motel 6 which charges $3 extra.

We heard occasional planes flying overhead; but since El Paso airport isn't that busy an airport, the noise wasn't an issue. Plus, I wear earplugs when I sleep in hotels/motels, and I wasn't woken up by plane noise.

The Elmer's Family Restaurant right next door (1-min walk) offers reasonably-priced good food. We had dinner there and again breakfast the next morning.

“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2008

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in October 2008. The male receptionist was very friendly and welcoming when we checked in. We requested an upstairs room but unfortunately one wasn't available. Our room was very nice and had an iron & board; microwave; fridge; hairdryer; airconditioner. Breakfast was included but was VERY basic. The hotel is close to the airport and planes do fly over BUT they don't fly late at night (no later than 9pm) or early in the morning. The hotel is close to the main road which is very busy, but when you close the door to your room you hear no noise. There is a guest laundry with 2 machines. The carpet in our room appeared OK but was quite dirty. The carpet was a little wet in parts from where the maid had cleaned it before we arrived. When you walked in socks or barefeet they ended up black. The sink in the bathroom was small and there wasn't anywhere to put your toiletries. The maids were most friendly and accommodating. I asked for a couple of extra pillows and they were delivered to our room immediately. One negative we did have was one of the receptionists - a young woman with dark hair (didn't get her name). She was one of the most unhelpful front desk staff we encountered on our 6 week tour of the USA. (In my assessment of the hotel I have ignored her rudeness as it was not what the rest of the staff were like.) When we first arrived at the hotel we asked about local restaurants and the male receptionist advised us to eat at a local Mexican Restaurant - Los Bandidos de Carlos and Mickeys. We ate there that night and the food was very tasty and reasonably priced. When you are seated at your table they give you a huge bowl of salsa and chips. My husband and I had tacos with beans, rice and guacamole plus drinks, all for $21. The restaurant itself was just gorgeous - beautiful old building with the most wonderful decor. We also ate at the diner next door and found the food very nice, reasonably priced and the staff extremely friendly.) We would stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.
