My wife and I made a quick overnight stop in El Paso in June 2011 with no reservation. Being familiar with El Paso we picked this motel for its location. It's old and not very large, so we figured the rates were good--they were, very. It has become an inexpensive place for soldiers (Ft. Bliss is in El Paso). It is on Interstate 10, but we were not bothered that night by traffic noise. The room was modest, but clean, and was just what we needed. The breakfast was not opulent, but fresh and tasty. With an early departure we didn't require anything more. The eating area was quiet and peaceful. The gentleman who checked us in was very gracious and efficient. El Paso is right on the border, and this hotel has a night security office who prowls continuously, and we felt perfectly safe, both for ourselves and for our vehicle. Many restaurants are nearby. Access to the hotel is easy. For a weeklong stay with a lot of hotel time I would look elsewhere, but for an overnight stop, this was just fine, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again under the same circumstances.
Room Tip: The second floor is usually a good bet.
