Although it has been several years since I last was a guest of The Cliff Inn in El Paso, Texas, it is still worth the review. This friendly accomodation is located in an older section of El Paso. The Inn sits on a large cliff overlooking downtown El Paso. Guests should be able to find it with ease whether driving yourself or taking a cab from the airport. The Cliff Inn is odd in that, from the outside, it truly does not make a statement. Its unapposing and rather plain exterior doesn't give away the surprise it has in store for you inside. But.....I will give it away. Upon walking through the Hotel's glass doors, you will be transported to a luxerious, elegant hideaway. The rooms, on the whole, are large, clean and very comfortable. I have had the opportunity to stay at length with this establishment. I lived there for almost a month while searching for my "desert home". The treatment from the staff, I felt to be unsurrpassed. I have stayed on other occassions and also recommend others to stay when they visit El Paso, Texas. I have yet to have any family member or friend come back with a complaint. The hotel boasts a full service restaurant and bar as well as plenty of room for conferences and business meetings. This Inn is appointed with lovely antiques and objects d'arte that lend their timeless elegance to the overall ambience. The hotel also offers most ammenities one expects from a full service hotel. However, what is probably one of the finest qualities of this hotel is its location facing over the ancient city of El Paso and its sister city in Mexico - Ciudad Juarez. During the day, both a large desert cities of international commerce. However, at night, they provide a beautiful light show for all to see. The lights appear to go on forever and are either stopped by large desert mountains or fall off of the edge of the horizon. All of this for a fairly nominal fee. Yes.....that is correct. This hotel is currently and always has been a moderately price establishment.
I could not recommend it more and, of course, when I am in El Paso next, you can bet that is where I can be found.
