I travel a great deal with work & although the hotel is rather tired/in need of a face life, I've typically chosen to stay at Hawthorn because of the proximity to airport and Ft Bliss.
During my last stay, I left some power charging cables in my room. I attempted to call the front desk & manager several times. After being transferred to housekeeping & being hung up on 3 times by someone I don't think spoke English, I left a message requesting with the front desk requesting a call back from a manager & never got anything. Today I called & was transferred to housekeeping only to find out that they would only mail back my cables if I gave them a credit card number. They could not tell me how much it would cost since they had to fed ex it (so I could figure out if it would be cheaper to buy new cables).
I realize leaving the cables behind is MY fault, but the poor customer service in trying to retrieve these and me having to pay (w.o any estimated cost) - has left me determined to look for another hotel to stay at when I am in the area. By the way, this is the FIRST hotel that has ever charged to mail back something left behind. Even car rental companies will mail back items left behind without charging the customer. (yea I've done that before too)
