My mother and I were back in Little Rock for medical purposes. Jameson Suites has a great medical rate of $49.99 a night and it's a straight shot down I630 to UAMS once you get past all the traffic and construction at Financial Center Pkwy and Shackleford Rd. First of all, the desk clerk was great! She accommodated our every request with a smile and great attitude! My best advice is to ask to see the room before you accept it at this hotel. We were shown 3 rooms before we found one to be acceptable and it still had a few issues. The first two room had old wrinkled up carpet that was all stretched out (305 & 226). I could have lived with it, but I was concerned that the carpet would cause my mother to fall. The hotel is built on the side of a hill, so the first 3 floors can all be entered from the outside and the lobby is on the 2nd floor. The room we accepted was 205, near the lobby. It was large with a separate living area with a sofa sleeper and kitchenette with mini fridge and a microwave. It was also clean except for the small area of mold on the wallpaper in the bathroom. The TV remote was not programmed for the TV so it was useless. But the most annoying and potentially dangerous issue was the broken electrical socket by the bathroom vanity area. I travel with my own blowdryer and I couldn't dry my hair in front of the mirror. There was no other outlet in viewing range of the mirror, a disaster for a woman with a round brush! The free continental breakfast is the usual donuts, muffins, watered down juice, etc. They do have a waffle maker, but avoid the biscuits and gravy (pretty yucky). Selection is best early because they don't seem to replenish anything during the alloted breakfast time. The Bottom line is that the rooms definitely need a makeover with updated carpet and bedding. The mattresses are pretty hard. No pillowtops here. But overall, I still say this is a good value for the money and will probably stay here again when we return in January 2012 if the price is still right. By the way, there's a PF Chang's and other good restaurants nearby, as well as retail shopping (Target, Academy Sports, etc).
