I stayed three nights at this hotel and had few complaints. The staff was incredibly helpful--I especially want to mention the woman who prepares the complimentary breakfast--I am on a special diet and she worked to make this happen for me. Thanks! Everyone from desk clerks to maids were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable--obviously new with very comfy and exceptionally clean looking bedding, ample quantity of towels that, while on the skimpy side as so many motel towels are, were new and very absorbant. Room includes coffee maker, iron and ironing board, refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer. I had a high speed, wireless internet connection for my laptop at no additional charge with a desk to use it and an ergonomically designed chair for the desk. Also a very nice arm chair and ottoman. The temperature controls worked very well--and it was especially hot in Little Rock that weekend. Breakfast included make it yourself waffles on a waffle iron and boiled eggs--not just the standard rolls and coffee fare. The location is in a very safe feeling part of Little Rock, the parking lot is well-lighted, and the interior rooms add to the sense of security. It is a bit difficult to find, but once you know where it is located, it is an excellent location for west Little Rock events--close to hospitals, shopping, and some of Little Rock's best restaurants. And its location just off a major freeway enables one to reach all parts of Little Rock easily. Compared to the other LaQuinta in western Little Rock on Shackleford, this is the Ritz!
Complaints: Complimentary coffee in lobby ran out early in day and was not replaced. This is an inexensive way to keep customer satisfaction. On the other hand, the clerk offered me more coffee packs for my in-room coffee maker and they kept creamers out all day for anyone to use, as well as a variety of tea bags. The cable TV channel selection was sparse, but I was not there to watch TV. For a family, this could be a problem. I had a king size bedded room and for one or two, it was plenty big enough, but I would not want to stay in there with a family for more than a quick night's sleep--room a bit on smallish side. While the room and breakfast area were clean, some of the other common areas, especially the elevator, were not always as clean as they could have been, but no serious problem or smells. There is no pool, but I probably would not have used a pool anyway, and they do have an agreement with a local, private pool for guest use--not sure about that as I did not have time to seek it out.
For the price, this is a very good choice for western Little Rock.
