This hotel is a good value for the price. I am big on interior rooms for safety and this hotel has that whereas similarly priced hotels in the area do not. The staff was very friendly and the room was basic but clean.

My only real problem was with the continental breakfast. The waffle maker was out of commission both days and the coffee ran out one morning and was not replaced in the time we ate. Hotels should always have an abundance of coffee. We also never saw a banana on the fruit display.

With family in Little Rock, we visit often and I would stay here again. One thing to note is that one end of the hotel is close to the interstate so there is traffic noise but nothing we couldn't deal with.

We stayed here one night and were welcomed by the most helpful and friendly front desk clerk that I have ever encountered in my traveling days (Talisha). She was very helpful in providing us with the area information we needed to enjoy our stay. Our room was just as we expected and was very comfortable. We would stay here again when we return to the area.

I am writing regarding my most recent and I can assure you LAST stay at La Quinta Inn located at 1010 Breckenridge Drive in Little Rock, AR 72205. We arrived today 2/2/08 and our confirmation number is 3093685167. We are returns members and decided to take advantage of our $15+6000 points special offer stay. That was a mistake!
First let me state that we come here often as a way to escape and it is hit and miss on just about every stay. The last stay was wonderful with only a minor glitch with the pay-per-view movies which was not the hotel's fault and they credited us back the movie that stopped working. The time before that was horrible with me getting scalded by a shower head coming off. Our stay was comped without our asking-I guess scalding water can do that.
However what happened on this stay will NOT be ignored. Everything looked good when we checked in but when I pulled back the sheet the bottom sheet had blood on it. We asked for another set of sheets and changed the bed ourselves. The front desk did ask us if we wanted to change rooms and we said that we were fine. Then our room got hotter and hotter and I decided it was just my hormones until I stepped out into the hall to get some ice and it was freezing outside in the hall. We all know that hotels don't care about air conditioning the hall so I knew the air in our room was messed up. I decided to go downstairs and ask if the air was messed up. I stood at the desk waiting for the front desk attendant to help me but he was too busy standing in front of a row of mirrors stocking coffee. I finally asked him if the air was torn up. He then said "I thought we said we would move ya'll." I said that was because of the bloody sheet and we didn't want to move. He said "Well it seems to me that ya'll have trouble every time you come here." I said that is untrue that when we were here last week Monique did a wonderful job of welcoming us. He said "We have a record of everything you do and we're taking pictures." I told him that was fine that I didn't care. He then just rolled his eyes and I walked off but then I decided to ask him if he had an attitude problem. He told me that his problem was us taking advantage of the hotel's business. I said we have not taken advantage of anything. He then proceeded to tell me that the hotel was keeping a record of our stays and that they even had pictures. I told him that was great that again I didn't care. I got into the elevator and I am seething as I type this. I would give anything if this was normal business hours and I could speak to the manager Chris Anderson or at least guest services. No one should have to endure treatment like this by a snotty desk clerk. I can assure you that the La Quinta is no place you want to be and they have lost a very valuable customer. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

I believe in giving second chances and decided to try La Quinta based on the manager's comment here on TripAdvisor.

Had only booked one night for a 2-night trip at a different hotel and it turns out there was a huge convention going on in Little Rock on that second night, so choices were limited. I did choose the La Quinta on Rodney Parham and I'm glad I did.

I'll echo the sentiments of the previous reviewer and say the staff are phenomenal. Very friendly and helpful...even after I left. When I called a few weeks later to request a copy of my receipt, the woman at the front desk remembered my name.

My only complaint about the hotel was a slight odor in the room. Not sure what it was and it didn't keep me from a good night's sleep, so I was fine with it.

Other than that, the beds, shower, TV, free breakfast and free wi-fi...all were plusses in my book.

The new management has done a good job based on what the previous reviews were saying and I'd have no problem recommending this property in the future.

  • Liked — Free wi-fi and free breakfast
  • Disliked — Slight odor in the room...not even enough to complain about

I stayed three nights at this hotel and had few complaints. The staff was incredibly helpful--I especially want to mention the woman who prepares the complimentary breakfast--I am on a special diet and she worked to make this happen for me. Thanks! Everyone from desk clerks to maids were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable--obviously new with very comfy and exceptionally clean looking bedding, ample quantity of towels that, while on the skimpy side as so many motel towels are, were new and very absorbant. Room includes coffee maker, iron and ironing board, refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer. I had a high speed, wireless internet connection for my laptop at no additional charge with a desk to use it and an ergonomically designed chair for the desk. Also a very nice arm chair and ottoman. The temperature controls worked very well--and it was especially hot in Little Rock that weekend. Breakfast included make it yourself waffles on a waffle iron and boiled eggs--not just the standard rolls and coffee fare. The location is in a very safe feeling part of Little Rock, the parking lot is well-lighted, and the interior rooms add to the sense of security. It is a bit difficult to find, but once you know where it is located, it is an excellent location for west Little Rock events--close to hospitals, shopping, and some of Little Rock's best restaurants. And its location just off a major freeway enables one to reach all parts of Little Rock easily. Compared to the other LaQuinta in western Little Rock on Shackleford, this is the Ritz!

Complaints: Complimentary coffee in lobby ran out early in day and was not replaced. This is an inexensive way to keep customer satisfaction. On the other hand, the clerk offered me more coffee packs for my in-room coffee maker and they kept creamers out all day for anyone to use, as well as a variety of tea bags. The cable TV channel selection was sparse, but I was not there to watch TV. For a family, this could be a problem. I had a king size bedded room and for one or two, it was plenty big enough, but I would not want to stay in there with a family for more than a quick night's sleep--room a bit on smallish side. While the room and breakfast area were clean, some of the other common areas, especially the elevator, were not always as clean as they could have been, but no serious problem or smells. There is no pool, but I probably would not have used a pool anyway, and they do have an agreement with a local, private pool for guest use--not sure about that as I did not have time to seek it out.

For the price, this is a very good choice for western Little Rock.
