We stayed at the Willow Glen on 8/18/06. I booked this B&B so that my wife and I could have a romantic weekend while seeing the plays at the Shakespere Festival. The stay actually started out okay. The room was large and not particularily clean but not horrible, and although the TV didn't work, we weren't planning on watching it anyway. We spent the day at Cedar Breaks Park and went to the evening play. When we got back to the room things went downhill. The room above us had no noise insulation and as such, every step could be heard. All night long we heard stomp stomp stomp. It made it very difficult to sleep. As an added bonus the stomping caused bugs to drop from the cieling onto the bed. Now this is tree room and as such is wood from floor to ceiling I was ready to overlook this point. In the morning, as my wife showered, I looked at the Mormon magazines that had been placed in the room. My wife came out of the shower furious. Her shower had gone from hot to ice cold. When i took mine the same thing happened. At this point having had no sleep and an icy shower we decided that the $140 per night was excessive and we would not be staying for the next night we had booked. We went to have their "Fantastic" breakfast and were once again disappointed. Our fantastic breakfast consisted of cold french toast. THe eggs were gone and so was the ham. We had expected more from a B&B and the price.
When we went to check out I wanted to give them every benefit of a doubt. The lady who checked us out said she couldnt give us a refund right then as she didnt know how to work the machine. She said the manager would refund the unused night when he got in. I said that we liked the way the property looked, but maybe the Tree Room was just not a good fit for us, again giving them a chance to salvage a customer. She said she'd never had a problem and then began to imply that we were just trying to cheat her. She said that people travelled the country pulling scams like this to make money. I still am not sure what she meant as we paid for the night we used and were not asking for that night to be refunded. She then moved on to ask how the breakfast was. We answered truthfully, which turned out to be a mistake. She then said we had to leave and that the breakfast was excellent. At that point she threw us off the property. As she slammed the door in my face I thought back to the magazines left in the room and thought - I don't think this is what Jesus would have done.
On the upside the next night was at the crystal inn, which was terrific and the breakfast was awesome.
