“Horrible Service!!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2009

I held my wedding here and there were so many promises that the owners/managers made to me that weren't delivered. First of all, they promised that the kitchen would be stocked and cooks would be there the entire reception to make sure that all of the guests were fed. Thirty minutes after the reception started the cooks and servers left when I had paid for them to be there the entire two hours. Also, there wasn't enough food to feed all of my guests. Second of all, I had planned to have the tables and chairs on the patio. There was too much sun on the patio, so they suggested that the table and chairs be moved to the lawn. I assumed that the lawn would be mowed when I agreed to this, yet the lawn was not mowed and we had to walk in knee high grass to socialize. It was a nightmare. For the amount of money I paid to have my wedding held there I expected much much more. Don't get me wrong the grounds were gorgeous; I was just very disappointed with the service.

“Just what we wanted”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2008

A really nice romantic getaway.
I have family in the area and needed a place to stay with my fiancée north of Cedar city so we picked Willow Glen from the online description. Last year we stayed in the Barn room and this year we tried the View room. The ambiance and decor was perfect for a little quiet time for us to share. The View room has a wonderful little bay window with a little table and chairs that opens to a superb peaceful setting. If you are looking for electronic distractions, bellboys, or other intrusive clutter, you will be disappointed. But if you are looking for a quiet getaway and just the right amount of service, I couldn’t recommend a better retreat. We loved the place and plan to be back every chance we get.

“Very Romantic and Restful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2008

After reading a couple of previous reviews, I was a little apprehensive to stay at the Willow Glen. However, our experience there exceeded all of our expectations.

We stayed in the Tuscany Villa, or Anniversary Suite. It was by far the cleanest, most private, and tastefully decorated B&B room we have ever stayed in. The room is divided into three main areas, the bedroom, sitting area, and bathroom/spa. We appreciated all of the lighting options. All of the furnishings, floorings and fixtures were very beautiful, comfortable and classy.

The room is heated by a gas fireplace that was very cozy and romantic. We enjoyed sitting by the fire after a long day of cross country skiing, and it was very romantic to watch the firelight flickering as we drifted off to sleep in the huge comfy bed.

The room was furnished with hot beverages, microwave popcorn, a microwave, and mini-fridge that came in very handy. They also provided a package of yummy Ghiradelli chocolates that we snacked on.

The breakfast was excellent. We stayed during the middle of the week so we were the only guests. Each morning we ate our breakfast and were delighted to find many options to choose from. There were hot items like sausage, eggs, and french toast,, and cold items like pastries, yogurt, and cold cereal.

The only suggestions I have for the inn is to provide bath robes in the rooms with jacuzzis, and to provide a bottle of bubbly juice with champagne glasses.

I would highly recommend the Anniversary Suite at Willow Glen to anyone looking for a romantic getaway. I would especially recommend visiting during the winter, during the middle of the week , if possible. The room, however, is very private and would be great anytime I am sure.

  • Liked — It was beautiful and secluded.
  • Disliked — It was a long way from our home.

“Loved Willow Glen inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2007

We stayed for 3 days in the barn room at Willow Glen Inn in Utah. We felt that the price was better than most hotels. We were very pleased with our whole experience. Our room was very clean and quaint. The breakfast was hot and good. There was a great variety each day and plenty. The owners were there every morning to make sure you had everything you needed and to just chat with you. We were made to feel very welcome. We also enjoyed the area surrounding our barn room. There were paths to walk, flowers to see, a couple of swings to sit in and relax. We did not use the jetted tub but it was a great addition to our room had we wanted to use it. I particularly enjoyed seeing all the wood items that the owner made. He is a very good woodworker and made some magnificant items. I had read a review about being so far away from some of the tourists spots but that was not a problem for us. We went to Bryce Canyon one day and to Zion National park one day and on the day we checked out we went to Grand Canyon. Yes they are not a stones throw away but the travel distance was not a problem for us at all. We had plenty of time to see each area with time left over to make stops on the way back to Willow Glen Inn. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

  • Liked — The quaint property.

“The owners dont want your business”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2006

We stayed at the Willow Glen on 8/18/06. I booked this B&B so that my wife and I could have a romantic weekend while seeing the plays at the Shakespere Festival. The stay actually started out okay. The room was large and not particularily clean but not horrible, and although the TV didn't work, we weren't planning on watching it anyway. We spent the day at Cedar Breaks Park and went to the evening play. When we got back to the room things went downhill. The room above us had no noise insulation and as such, every step could be heard. All night long we heard stomp stomp stomp. It made it very difficult to sleep. As an added bonus the stomping caused bugs to drop from the cieling onto the bed. Now this is tree room and as such is wood from floor to ceiling I was ready to overlook this point. In the morning, as my wife showered, I looked at the Mormon magazines that had been placed in the room. My wife came out of the shower furious. Her shower had gone from hot to ice cold. When i took mine the same thing happened. At this point having had no sleep and an icy shower we decided that the $140 per night was excessive and we would not be staying for the next night we had booked. We went to have their "Fantastic" breakfast and were once again disappointed. Our fantastic breakfast consisted of cold french toast. THe eggs were gone and so was the ham. We had expected more from a B&B and the price.
When we went to check out I wanted to give them every benefit of a doubt. The lady who checked us out said she couldnt give us a refund right then as she didnt know how to work the machine. She said the manager would refund the unused night when he got in. I said that we liked the way the property looked, but maybe the Tree Room was just not a good fit for us, again giving them a chance to salvage a customer. She said she'd never had a problem and then began to imply that we were just trying to cheat her. She said that people travelled the country pulling scams like this to make money. I still am not sure what she meant as we paid for the night we used and were not asking for that night to be refunded. She then moved on to ask how the breakfast was. We answered truthfully, which turned out to be a mistake. She then said we had to leave and that the breakfast was excellent. At that point she threw us off the property. As she slammed the door in my face I thought back to the magazines left in the room and thought - I don't think this is what Jesus would have done.
On the upside the next night was at the crystal inn, which was terrific and the breakfast was awesome.
