I stayed in CICPW in November 2011 for roughly one week (split by spending a couple of days in Washington DC). My biggest compliment goes to the staff, who are very cheery and helpful, and I often had a great conversation with them after heading back from a day of touring and a good dinner.
The rooms are OK, but they are relatively small. I got two separate rooms due to splitting the duration of the stay, and the first room was better than the second one. However, I didn't travel to NYC to spend my time in hotel rooms, so I slept, looked at some emails, washed, had breakfast, then went out for the day, so CICPW served it's purpose.
The wifi is quite strong throughout the hotel, and my phone & laptop didn't have any outages that I recall when in wifi range.
The location is pretty good - about 2-3 minutes walk from the 72nd St Subway stop.
The breakfast is a buffet, not something I am a fan of, so I stuck to packeted cereal and juice. I prefer they offer you the meal with the room, but you can pick from a menu what you want and the chef prepares it.
Overall, I would say that I would consider staying at CICPW again when I return to NYC, although I might be tempted to spend a little more money per night for something a little bit more spacious & luxurious.
