We looked for a location within walking distance to Times Square and some of the nearby attractions. The Courtyard was in the right spot! What was so wonderful about this hotel was actually the staff. They were very accommodating to us. We arrived on an early flight from Morristown, NJ and the weather was cold and rainy. They let us check into our room at 9:45 a.m.! I know this is not the norm, but they had availability and clean rooms so they let us in.
The staff was very cordial to us the entire time, helping with directions, cabs, etc.
One the last night we were there, we were looking for a local, nice restaurant. They suggested Salute! which was just "down the street and around the block." Doesn't sound bad, but which way down the street, and what block do we turn onto? The busboy at the desk actually called ahead, and then proceeded to walk us the entire way to the restaurant! He chatted along the way and was just a great kid! When we arrived and checked our coats, we went to get a tip for him and he had already left! We were amazed! We were able to catch up with him the next day and reward him for his great customer care!
All it all, it was a fantastic hotel! I would defiantly recommend it again and go there when in NYC.

Noise: almost none
Rooms: standard Marriott quality rooms. Very clean. Nice shower.

There is not much to say about the hotel other that it completely met our expectations. The room was spacious and quiet. We asked to be on the top floor and got a big room with a view over the city. Front desk service was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is small but great for the price.

Located just off 5th Ave. on 40th St., this Courtyard has a great location . Everything else about it was really only fair. We requested a high floor and a room with a view but ended up on the 6th floor looking down on an ugly roof and across at an ugly paritally abandoned building.. To be fair, we accepted the room because it was ready at noon so we were able to freshen up before touring. The room itself was very small and, although clean, a bit run down. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. I would have been really upset if I paid even the average $200.00 for this room but I got it on points. The staff, though pleasant, were not overly friendly or accomodating. I would not stay here again.

My wife and I spent a night here in December to take in the City's Holiday sights and sounds. This is a very expensive hotel, and I used my Marriott points for the night, but even that was expensive! Check-in was very quick and easy. The rooms are typical NYC hotel rooms, on the small size. But the views looking south or west are spectacular.

The location is what I liked best about this hotel. Especially around December time. You are literally 50 feet from 5th Avenue (the entrance is on 40th Street.) Seeing the windows on Fifth, going to Macy's, going to see the tree at Rock Center as well as taking in a Broadway or Radio City Music Hall show, are all an easy walk away. Plus, if you did want to go further, the Lexington Avenue Subway line, with connections to other major subway lines is a short walk away at Grand Central Station. And restaurants? Fuggedaboutit! They're all over the place.

My wife and I always spend one night in the city at Christmastime every year. This is the first time we've stayed at this hotel and it ha snow become our favorite and the one we will attempt to stay at every year now.
