“Fantastic and have Recommended to Friends!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

My partner and i travelled to New York and stayed at the Vincci Avalon for my 30th Birthday in January this year.
We had read many good reviews and after a long tiring journey we arrived in New York late and very tired. The receptionist was very polite and upgraded our room to a suite which was very nice, we entered the room and were immediately struck by the generous size of the room, very clean and crisp appearance and modern.
The bed was literally the most comfortable bed we had slept in and the bathroom was clean and the marble was a nice touch.
After having a fantastic break in New York and staying at the Vincci Avalon 2 nights we checked out around midday, and saw the last of what we could see before our airport taxi picked us up from outside the Vincci Avalon at 6pm.
We got back to the hotel around 5.30pm and it was so cold outside that the kind staff at the Vincci Avalon let us wait in the lobby until 6pm.
Overall our experience at the Vincci Avalon was excellent. Impeccable service, fantastic and spacious rooms and a warm welcoming atmosphere, being our first time in New York we were so impressed and vowed to return again in the Summer.
Thanks again for making our First visit to New York and my 30th Birthday Truly memorable and we both hope to stay at the Vincci Avalon again soon.

“Good location - quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Only stayed one night for business. Booked the room only a few daythe s before stay and the price was very reasonable. Spoke directly to the hotel and felt that the staff really wanted me to stay with them. Very welcoming. Good room rate for a last minute booking. Arrived late on Tuesday night. Check in was very easy and night clerk was very hospitable. Empire Pizza is a block away on 5th ave. for good late night food. I used to have an office a few blocks away so I knew the neighborhood. Room was clean and very old style NY. Big windows and hard wood floors and over stated trim. Floor was warm and did not creak. Stayed on 5th floor facing the street. Room was quiet and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. WiFi in the room was a little flaky. Breakfast buffet is expensive for what you get and caters to European travelers as well as American. Better breakfast for my needs is available down the street. The Library / Business center was very comfortable and a good place to work. All the hotel staff were very helpful and gracious. Rumor is the building has been sold to a new investor group that will try and turn the Avalon into a 5 star hotel. I will definitely try them again.

“Great boutique hotel in New York”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Beautiful hotel, staff could not have been nicer, even let us check in 3 hours before official check in time. Storage of bags no problems with no obligatory costs charged. Free internet access in rooms and tea and coffee in reception, refreshing change from Hilton hotel chain we stayed in previously. Easy 10 minute walk from Penn Station. Overall lovely stay and will return.

“Cold showers, rude staff, slow wifi, silly room design”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I would not recommend this hotel. The biggest problem with this hotel is the luke warm "hot" water. Hotel staff would not admit there was a problem. I was shivering while showering. I asked other customers at the hotel if they also had cold showers and they did.

“Great location, great value for money, great place to stay in New York!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Located in Midtown, this hotel is perfectly situated to some of New York's most important landmarks. Just a few minutes walk from the Empire State Building, Macy's and Times Square.
The hotel is well appointed and has very decently furnished rooms for prices that are half that of comparable places in Manhatten.
The reception and house-keeping staff are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay!
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The 17th Floor Suites have pretty good views.
