“Incredible stay.”

We have just returned from New York, stayed at the Fitzpatrick from 1st to 5th of February and cannot praise it enough.I e-mailed them prior and explained that we were in town to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and hoped for a early check-in so as to get right into New York.We got the early check-in and more besides as they upgraded us to a suite complimentary. The suite had everything we needed and a lot we never could have expected,a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries to name but a few.The entire staff were always friendly and smiles were the order of the day, regardless of their origins the people at the Fitzpatrick ooze Irish hospitality day and night.
The Wheeltapper Pub next door retains a very original feel and serves a really decent pint of Guinness as well.
The location is perfect, just a couple of blocks from the magnificent Grand Central Station and within walking distance of most of the must-do's that the city has to offer.U.N.Plaza,Times Square,Rockafeller Centre,Empire state Building etc.
All in all,a great experience and one we are keen to repeat. There may be bigger named, better known and of course, pricier hotels in New York, but the hospitality at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central means that this is the one we will always recommend and the first one we will look at when we return here.We have stayed in many fine Hotels around the world but none have been more welcoming than the Fitzpatrick.
Many, many thanks to everyone who helped make our stay so memorable.
Brian and Gillian Hancock.Manchester.

“Affordable, Clean and Convenient”

This place is now on my short list of places to stay in Midtown Manhattan. Not sure if it was just the timing of my stay,(super bowl night) but I got a great deal for my nights stay. This location is very quiet for NY City. The room was spotless and the beds are very soft. The only suggestion I would have for them is to find a way to better seal the door, as light from the hall can seep into the room.

“Wouldn't stay more than 1 night”

We meant to write this review after we returned from honeymoon last September 2011 but never got around to it... The hotel is well located but is small and pokey ... We had decided on staying 5 nights at the end of our 3week honeymoon .. We had a good bit of luggage and ended up in a small pokey room with a small bathroom ... We thought this hotel was to be luxurious as friends had often stayed before and w really looked forward to it .... Well never again... The lifts were continuously broken during our stay ... This hotel might be ok for one or two nights but not for your honeymoon sadly ?.....

“Best hotel for any need”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Not only did the staff let us check in at 9:00 in the morning, but they gave us the best room! Looked out over the street. This hotel was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in, the best staff, the most sweet bellman, and just was so amazed at the location. Two blocks from Grand Central, you can hook a train to anyplace you want. I will be going back to experience this amazing hotel again and soon. Oh and the Beds were the most comfortable I have ever experienced in any hotel. Not too soft but soft. I didn't get up with the feeling like I had slept on the floor.. Next to the theater district. 5 blocks. Loved it

Room Tip: The front staff gave us a wonderful room.

“Highly recommend Fitzpatrick Grand”

Stayed one night while meeting friends in the city. Room was clean and all linens and carpets were new. Bathroom was good size for NY standards. I've stayed at many hotels around the country and this is a realistic 4 star. I went to bed at 2:30am and didn't hear any noise until 8:30am when the elevator beeped.

My friends stayed at the Roger Williams and W. Both complained that their rooms were tiny and worn out. They said the beds there were more like fulls than queens. Fitzpatrick was much nicer, cleaner and we had a king bed for less money. IYou cannot find a better hotel for the money. I booked for $139.00 plus tax = $164.00

Shower nozzle was pretty weak but not a big deal. View out the window was a brick wall but I was only there to sleep. Location is great, across the street from Grand Central. Parking sucks but that's normal in that area due to the United Nations and Grand Central.
