We have just returned from New York, stayed at the Fitzpatrick from 1st to 5th of February and cannot praise it enough.I e-mailed them prior and explained that we were in town to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and hoped for a early check-in so as to get right into New York.We got the early check-in and more besides as they upgraded us to a suite complimentary. The suite had everything we needed and a lot we never could have expected,a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries to name but a few.The entire staff were always friendly and smiles were the order of the day, regardless of their origins the people at the Fitzpatrick ooze Irish hospitality day and night.
The Wheeltapper Pub next door retains a very original feel and serves a really decent pint of Guinness as well.
The location is perfect, just a couple of blocks from the magnificent Grand Central Station and within walking distance of most of the must-do's that the city has to offer.U.N.Plaza,Times Square,Rockafeller Centre,Empire state Building etc.
All in all,a great experience and one we are keen to repeat. There may be bigger named, better known and of course, pricier hotels in New York, but the hospitality at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central means that this is the one we will always recommend and the first one we will look at when we return here.We have stayed in many fine Hotels around the world but none have been more welcoming than the Fitzpatrick.
Many, many thanks to everyone who helped make our stay so memorable.
