“Great location for a reasonable price”

I spent a weekend at this property and was pleased by the fantastic location, one block off the East River, you are within walking distance of Saks, Bloomis, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, the Theatre District and the adorable Dylan's Candy Bar. There are several places to eat nearby inluding my favorite Mr Chows on 57th.

The service was reasonable the property is nice enough, the rooms are clean.

Room Tip: A room with a river view is best.

“Good Hotel but poor service”

I stayed in this hotel in febuary 2009. The room was nice, unfortunatly on the morning of our departure the hot water stopped working in our shower. We waited30 minutes before maintenance showed up, unable to fix the issue. I called down to the main desk to see if we could have a late check out due to the problem but were rudley told that we would be charged an extra day if we did not leave within the hour. I ended up taking a cold shower. No apologies were made or compensation. After my cold shower I asked if they could send up some hot tea. Upon check- out there was a charge on my bill for the tea, only after fighting with the front desk did they remove the charge. It was than discoverd that there was nohit water in most of the hotel. This Hotel would get a 4.5 star rating if only they learnt about customer service. Needless to say I am staying there again this weekend. The location is good as well as the rooms, hopefully this time around the stafff will have a friendly and more accomadating attitude.

“Great stay at the Bentley!”

I flew into NYC on Jan. 29th, 2012 to stay at the Holiday Inn on 31st St. while on a business trip. It was a complete nightmare. The desk clerks were rude, obnoxious and didn't know what they were doing. They ended up putting a hold on 900 on my credit card by accident. I was so frustrated I decided to not stay there and try a hotel uptown that I'd stay in during a past trip.

The manager, Augustine (I think that's how you say it), was so nice and courteous. He took care of me and my guest and checked on us the entire time. The entire dynamic of the trip was changed by the hotel change. On Tuesday after I had my business taken care of I had almost forgotten the night before and could concentrate on enjoying the city.

The suite was so nice. I loved the view. My friend stayed on a roll away in the living room. It worked out great since the heat was in the living room and my friend loved sleeping in really warm temperatures and I didn't.

I'd suggest this hotel to anyone who wants to go to NYC. I should have stayed there in the first place but wanted to be closer to where I was intially going. I won't make that mistake again.

I think the Bentley was a fantastic place to stay. I checked out yesterday, Feb. 1, and I'm still missing it. I recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: The suite made a big difference. The views were a great way to wake up in the morning.

“Skip the breakfast buffet”

Although the rooms are nicely appointed, they are NYC-tiny, tiny, tiny. Attentive and helpful staff make the hotel feel comfortable. The breakfast buffet, however, is overpriced and mediocre, at best. For a good meal at reasonable price, walk one block to the Ritz Diner. Don't miss their blueberry pancakes.

“Not a bad place for the money - with a little service upgrade could be great”

We stayed at the hotel over the weekend checking in on a Friday. When we reached the front desk, we were told their computers were down so they couldn't tell which rooms had been cleaned, they had no idea when they would be up, and to just 'sit in the lobby'. Really? No Plan B? No going to the rooms to see which had been cleaned? No timeframe?

I don't blame the young staff at the front desk, but this is a serious customer service faux pas. After a group of us sat for an hour, someone 'escalated' and things started to roll.

Hotel is clean, modern, and overall a good value. Not near subways which is a drawback but that's why the price is resonable. Overall a pleasant place to stay with great views.

If they fixed some of the easy to fix things like the Customer Service, it could be a great hotel.
