I stayed at this hotel for two nights at New Year's Eve 2012 being told it was outstanding but I haven't been that impressed by my room or by service. I had a room with no view at all even though it was on a high floor, the hotel is next to Central Park and I paid $500 per night. The staff is available but their service is not that great. They say they have a free shuttle in Manhattan but it was never available when I needed it. When I wanted to book a taxi to JFK airport, they say it would cost me between $250 and $500. And above all, I found they were quite stingy for a 5-star hotel when I called them from Washington as I realized I left a medicine I needed in my room, they said I would have to collect it by myself and they wouldn't send it to me unless I paid them in advance.
