“A good base to experience New York”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

This was our second visit to New York, returning to the hotel we stayed at in March 2010 for another six night stay. We looked at other hotels but all things considered we decided that this was as good a place as any to lay our heads after a hard day pounding the concrete.

We arrived early therefore our room wasn't available but we got all the formalites out of the way. Yudy on reception was great, friendly and helpful. We headed off for a couple of hours and when we returned we noticed that our room number had changed. Yudy had switched the room to the same as we had March last year, 1505. A nice touch, one that we appreciated.

The rooms are a good base complete with a small kitchenette area that has a fridge, coffee maker and microwave and a modest sized bathroom complete with shampoo's etc. The shower is good, powerful and hot water is no problem. The bed is huge and so comfy, it is without doubt the best holiday bed we have ever slept on. Inside and outside noise was minimal which enabled a good nights sleep.

A frustrating point of the stay was the internet connection. We stayed in an Executive King room which had wifi included. However connection was lacking often. Once connected, the speed was fine though. (Patience isn't a virtue I am blessed with) ;-)

If you like a bath after a hard days exploring give 1505 a miss as the plug in the bath is non-existant meaning its a shower only.

The location is great for all things touristy, it really is a little gem and no plug and outage on the net would not deter us from stopping here for a third time. We won't even contemplate other hotels, we nailed it with this one.

Overall, a great stay. Staff are professional, courteous and make you feel welcome and at home.

If you have any questions, drop me a message. I will be happy to respond.

Enjoy your trip to NY :-)

Room Tip: Request a rear facing room to minimise street noise. Pick a Bagel a few blocks up is a great place...

“A Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

Stayed here for the first time in January 2012 though it had been recommended to me. Great location and I mean Great! Friendly efficient staff. Solid room too. All round great week at the Belvedere. Like a lot of NYC hotels you have to pay for Internet. I refuse and just use my 3G. If you get an upscale room I think it is free. Overall I highly recommend and will stay again if I can find a deal like this time. Give it a try.

“Good Hotel in NYC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

So i live in NYC but stayed here for one night to celebrate my husbands birthday on New Years eve. The room was clean and large for NY standards. I can't add much more since i did not interact with the staff much. The block is very quiet and close to time square if you don't mind the walk.

“can't beat the location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

this place was awesome - just a short walk to times square and tons of nearby entertainment. the rooms were comfortably temperature controlled. small bathrooms, but that would be my only complaint. the staff was wonderful and the valet parking service was very convenient. $50/day to keep the car parked. the italian restaurant next door was awesome, be sure to stop there if you are staying here! the rooms were very quiet and I slept well. at the time when I stayed here the cost was USD$178/night in late May which was an excellent deal, however it looks like the cost has gone up quite a bit since then.
