We booked this property post cruise because of the location to the 9/11 memorial and financial district.
It was kind of a rough cruise for my wife, she didn't feel too well for most of it. We were ready to get off of the ship and to the hotel. The only problem, it was only 9:30 am when we arrived at the hotel. Much to our surprise this was not a problem to the Marriott, they were very kind to check us into our room immediately and recommended a great place for breakfast called George's. I cant tell you how nice the front desk staff was and how much we appreciated being able to check in so early.
The lobby is modern and clean, the rooms are what we have come to expect of a Marriott and the bathroom was clean but a little rough around the edges. It seemed to be a more worn looking than the rest of the room but it would not prevent me from staying there again.
We had a great experience at this property and exploring the surrounding area.

Tuesday nights the hotel chef makes up several dishes along a regional theme and serves them in the Concierge lounge. He is there to tell about the dishes and how he prepared them. Good food - cancel your dinner plans for Tuesday evenings if you have access to the Concierge Lounge.

We are from the west coast so this room was very small by what we are used to. They were great about allowing us to have all three boys with us in the room, and we felt safe and it was comfortable to sleep, no street noise to bother us. I imagine if you had less people in the room it would have felt less congested. The shower and bathroom was nice, except no fan? We never got a chance to ask the Conceirge anything, he was never there when we went downstairs, however the staff at the desk was great and very helpful. The bellhop was only to glad to get us a town car since there were five of us, however these are very expensive, so if its not in your budget, hail a cab, most will take you anyway as long as one of the kids is smaller. The location was good for Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, financial stuff but if you are there to see Times Square or the Museums you should stay uptown. The food was good, just as expensive as everywhere else, but good portions.

Been through most of the Marriotts around the country. The chef served excellent food and made the experience personable!!!!
