We decided to get out of Connecticut for the night and enjoy an evening in the city. I had a bunch of miles, some decided to stay at the Marriott. We picked the East Side due to its location. We didn't want to be in the "middle" of everything, but wanted to be close by. Since its on Lexington Avenue, you are a short walk to Park Ave, Madison Ave and all the shopping your credit card can handle.
We were greeted the second we walked up to the counter. The gal couldn't have been nicer. She upgraded us to a room that was a bit larger then a regular king room. Located on the 22 floor, we were pleased when we walked in to see a roomy, immaculate room. The decor was tasteful, with ample lighting, outlets, and a nice sized closet. The bathroom was marble, with lots of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, q-tips and cotton balls. There is a small refrigerator perfect for picking up juice, water for the morning. The view was not that great, a big ugly air conditioner, but the other window had the entire top lighted portion of the Chrysler building! A wonder to look at from your bed at night.
If you have a craving for sushi, check out Hatsuhana on 48th and Madison. A bit pricey but well worth it!

Great location, friendly staff, updated hotel near Grand Central and fine shopping.

Wonderful Hotel for a stay in NYC. Was able to walk to business meetings and enjoy walks to Time Square at night. The concierge facilities was one of the best I have ever seen at a Marriott. Great hotel for the cost. Excerise room was a blast as you looked out from the 35th floor.

This hotel is lovely, in a safe and central area, and so much to see nearby: Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Madison Avenue, Central Park, Grand Central, the UN, the MOMA, the NYC public library and Bryant Park, etc. We had a hard time finding restaurants to eat dinner at in this part, so do your research on where to eat before you stay here. Also, I don't give it an excellent rating because the service wasn't particularly friendly, though they were professional.
