“I wanted to love this hotel...”

I stayed in a patio king room. This room was REALLY big. Bed was comfortable, extra pillows were a nice touch. Was excited to have the outdoor patio space. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate but in the spring I am sure this huge patio would be great. Problem is your patio is connected to all other patios thru a flimsy wooden gate that does not lock. I did not like this at night thinking someone could be looking in the wall of windows. The room was really hot even with the heat turned off. At one point I had my windows open to cool the room down. The walls were so thin. I could hear every word my neighbors and anyone in the lobby or front desk said. They were not even talking loud but sounded like they were right in my room. That combined with the temp made it very hard to sleep. I liked the idea of having a kitchen. The cabinets were metal, a little rusty and the walls were a little dirty. The bathroom was really nice. Nice big TV. The 'experience kit' was a nice touch - yoga mat, DVD, blocks. Location was good. Free bottle of wine at check in was great. Their was just something about this place that felt uncomfortable. I really wanted to love it but it was just off.

I completed a survey after my stay and received a reply saying 'sorry the room you reserved was not available when you checked in.' I did not even say that in my review, I did not experience that problem. This was the second email response I received that was not appropriate. Just like everything else with this hotel...they try but just miss the mark.

Room size was huge for any hotel, anywhere.
Decor was extremely dated. Wall paper was old. Carpet was old. Bathrooms need to be recaulked. However, if you are looking for a value and need space, then this is perfect.
Great location, and very quiet.

Best Bell Desk. Helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: 1204 is a 2 bedroom. Worth it if you have kids or are packing in a bunch of people.

“Great Place To Stay”

NYC born and happy to return for a weekend. Upper East Side location between 2nd. & 3rd.
Not your typical small room hotel. Has good room floor plan PLUS a kitchenette. A pillow menu is a great thing if you have allergies. The staff must be treated well by management because they were highly attentive. Can't ask for more in Manhattan without paying twice or more as much.

Room Tip: If you stay on the second floor you never need to use the elevator. You can be in and out in less th...

“Nice but a few problems!!”

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. Very spacious room with two beds and a pull out couch. Pretty friendly staff. There needs to be definite improvements to the lobby( or lack thereof). I thought the rooms were of a good size (according to NYC hotels). Really thinks there needs to be vending machines available and ice machines (not just the ice in the freezer in the room). I would stay here again. Do think it is a bit overpriced for what you get. Also hate the fact that you can't get air(yes even in the winter) as the room does get a little warm at times. Ended up having to open the window and contend with traffic and car noise most of the night just for some ventilation.

“Great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This was my first stay and I will be back. I loved this hotel. The front desk was very pleasant during check in and check out. The rooms are huge, especially for NY. The bed was very comfortable and I love that you get a choice of pillows. My room was on the street side but was very quiet.
