Great Location, great brand but very poor quality of rooms! Dirty carpets, noisy toilets, 18th century air-conditioning! I could hardly sleep because of the renovation work going-on! Quite disappointed though customer was much decent!

We chose the Doubletree Metropolitan Hotel in our last trip to NYC because of its location in a quiet area, yet close to the most touristic places.
Our room was perfect, big and clean, with a comfy bed and flat TV and even though it overlooked a fire fighter station on 51st street, we didn't have trouble sleeping thanks to well-insulated windows.
This hotel is cool, with a relaxed spirit and more than OK for the price of the room ($200)
Service was excellent and attentive, making their best to make you feel confortable and cozy, despite the fact that the hotel is big, with lots of rooms.
Make sure to get your Welcome Cookie when you check in...it´s more than welcome if you are landing after a 10-hour flight!

When looking for a hotel in New York, we didn't want to spend a lot, knowing we would be spending most of our time out and about in the city. However, we also wanted something safe, clean and comfortable for our time at the hotel. We found all of that in this hotel. It appeared that they were in the process of renovating (we weren't in a reno. room), but even the older rooms were clean and comfortable. We were able to get a great rate ($150 a night). It was surprisingly quiet at night. Times Square, Broadway, 5th Avenue, etc are all within walking distance. A great choice for someone visiting the city for the first time. The hotel staff was also very helpful. They did charge to hold our bags for the day (we were flying out at night), which surprised us.

A nice hotel in a quieter area of Manhattan. It was a little bit noisy one of the mornings since they had a street fair outside, I think sunday for Veterans Day or something, but we shopped and got some cheap souvenirs and great crepes from the street venders. Easy cab ride to everything, close to the subway, and a cheap rate for Manhattan.
