Check in was very pleasant. There was not a line on a Friday at 3:00 pm and we asked for an upgrade when we got there since we booked through Hotwire. Mohammad was very accommodating and found us the best room available. For $30, we got a corner room with big windows on two walls on the 32nd floor with an almost full view of the empire state building. The room had two double beds, a desk with a chair and a small dresser with a tv on top and a closet that fit all of our stuff for the weekend. It was a small room but for an old NY hotel it is a typical size. The bathroom was small and old but functional. As soon as we got in our room Mohammad called from the front desk to make sure we were happy. For the amount of time we spent in the room the size was not an issue. The heat and hot water worked fine. The bed could have been a little softer, the mattress was a bit too firm for me. I prefer the soft pillow tops. The walls are very thin and there was a dog show in town and we could hear some barking from the rooms in the same hallway as ours. The street noise during the day was loud but sleeping was surprisingly quiet. The location is very good if you plan to use the transit system. The hotel is right across the street from Penn Station and there are subway stations all over the place. It is just about a 15 or 20 minute walk to Rockefeller Center, times square and the theaters. Macy's is just a 3 minute walk away. Overall our stay was very enjoyable. One thing that I would recommend is if you drove your car and had the hotel park it for you, be prepared to wait a long, long, long, time for them to get it for you. It took almost an hour for the valet to get our car and it was a bit frustrating but besides that, the stay couldn't have been better.
Room Tip: we had 3227 and we had a partial but good view of the empire state building

We certainly appreciate you review. Thank you for the 5-star ratings and for being willing to recommend us to your friends! We will work to improve the wait times for our valet parking service. It is possible that you got caught in the Westminster Dog Show frenzy and that was the reason for your abnormal wait times. I will ensure that your concern is seen by management.
