I travel a good deal and consult TripAdvisor regularly, but have never before posted a review on anything. After staying in this wonderful and highly original home numerous times over the past 10 years, I am strongly moved to present a much different picture than a few bits of sourness I saw below. Having lived around the world and heavily travelled for both business and pleasure, we always return with real joy to this extraordinary house when in NYC. Recently spent a very happy week at Rooms to Let, this time in the spacious top-floor suite. I’ve been privileged to stay in every space in the house and each arrangement has always been—without exception—scrupulously clean, thoughtfully appointed, unfailingly hospitable, incredibly convenient in location, opposite-of-fussy, well-stocked, well-priced. Simply put, if you seek the authentic over the anonymous and an individual jewel over dull links in endless hotel chains; if you choose to feel like a human being rather than a non-stop tipping ATM; if you prefer a color-filled home to a gray cube and polished old wood to plastic and aluminum; if you’d rather spend time in a gorgeous and serene light-filled garden than a hotel lobby; and if you value a thoughtful, warm and quite personal place to land when you travel, then this is definitely the place for you. I am abidingly grateful to Ms. Colt for choosing to share her lovely home with us, allowing us to periodically hang our hats there too, if only briefly. Already looking forward to our next stay in the near future.
