“Great hotel, great value, again and again”

This is probably the 5th time I have stayed at this property. The qualities that I like about it (other than its location) high value, great staff, casual service, clean rooms, free wifi!

The staff really make a difference and they care about what they do. I like this property because it is really no nonsense. I stay at a lot of big hotels and they are impersonal. Yes, this Four Points is a chain hotel, but the small lobby with no crowds and eager staff make you never want to stay at a big hotel again. It is nice to be greeted immediately, welcomed back to the hotel and never a queue at reception. It's great.

Did I mention free wifi? To me, this is a great thing. Rooms are super clean and all you need. Work out room is on the small side, but that's OK.

Only complaints.... wifi was a bit weak in my room (1407) and there are not a lot of great TV channels. The TV's are huge HD TV's, but not a lot to watch, like Food Network. I would have loved some international news programmes.

Great stay, great place and I'll definitely be back for the next business trip, A

“Location is everything!”

My husband and I stayed for one night while visiting our nephew who lived right around the corner. The hotel is in walking distance of shops, restaurants bars, you name it.
The room is standard size for NYC, in other words not a lot of space but we didn't have tons of luggage to stash. We had the king with city views on the 16th floor, if your room is in the front of the hotel there really isn't much to look at but if your in the back you'll have terrific view of downtown.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Since NYC is the city that never sleeps be prepared for honking horns and people yelling on weekend nights. The din finally ended around 4:30 am.
There is a restaurant bar within the building, however, I would recommend walking a few blocks and see the neighborhood for other options.
We would return as the location is ideal.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back, not front on Carlton St.

“Welcoming staff and a decent room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Chose to stay at this hotel primarily based on area, price and SPG membership. I was really pleased to find the property was only one block away from the Houston St metro station and very easy to find. Staff were very welcoming on arrival, even though the single staff member on the front desk was multi-tasking - working very hard to meet each guest's requirements and smiling throughout. I was given a welcome bag of goodies including a bottle of water, a pack of cookies and a Time Out guide, a nice touch.
The room was small - I had read other reviews where this had been mentioned but from the property images I was not expecting it to be quite so small - however as I was staying on my own this was not an issue and I settled in quite quickly.
My room backed onto the elevator shaft (I think 2 rooms per floor back onto the elevators) and there was quite a lot of noise from the elevators that seemed to travel through the bathroom ventlation shaft. There was also quite a bit of noise from other rooms which also seemed to travel this same way. The noise did not affect my sleep fortunately but was a bit intrusive when trying to relax in the room at other times.
The room was clean and well appointed with a desk area, work chair, armchair, wardrobe and flat panel HD TV. The bed was very comfortable with clean crisp linens. The bathroom similarly was well decorated and stylish with everything you could need provided. I loved that the towels were a good size, soft and fluffy and smelt really nice and fresh.
Didn't get a chance to try the Italian restaurant - this was off the small lobby area and to be honest looked more like a bar than a restaurant although I can imagine that in the summer when the terrace is open there would be more space and activity.
Overall I was happy with my choice of hotel - you dont get much for your money in New York, but this property offered a quality room in a great location for a reasonable price (considering New York options!!!) I would certainly consider staying here again if visiting the area.

“Weekend overnight stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

The hotel was fine, but it was incredibly noisy. There was a party going on until late and the sound traveled up to the eighth floor via the courtyard. Based on the noise I would not recommend the hotel although the accomodations were good and the staff was very courteous.

“Great first stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

This was our first stay at the Four Points by Sheraton. We were very pleased with the quality
of the room, the service, the location, and the staff were some of the friendliest we've dealt
with in several years of visiting NYC. Would not hesitate to stay there again.
