“Just right for us”

We stayed here for 5 nights on our first visit to New York, and would agree with all the other comments here, this is a gem of a place, quirky but nice, and in a great location for the theatre district. Really a Bed and Breakfast hotel with limited breakfast choice, it is still possible to "send out" for a cooked breakfast if you really must. The early evening wine and cheese was very welcome, the free WiFi and guest computer (with printer!) a nice touch, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room was fine, comfortable bed, enough space, and a remarkably good en-suite shower room. No view, but what do you expect in a city hotel? We certainly hope to visit New York again and would select this place again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Room 400 has no traffic noise, but there is some heater/AC unit noise

“A Real Gem”

We are Trip Advisor followers and saw the high rating when planning a 6 night visit to NY, A superbly presented and maintained hotel just a few steps from Times Square proper. Staff offer exceptional friendly service right down to room service people. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The complimentary continental breakfasts were exceptional, witht the daily wine and cheese offerings a treat.
Take the opportunity to enjoy a meal at Tony's restaurant right next door -but beware a one plate serving will satisfy 2 - 3 people!
Highly recommended as a Boutique Hotel

Room Tip: King Bed is superb

Dear emem,

Thank you so much! We are very proud to have Trip Advisors top #20 restaurant in NYC (out of over 6,000) Tony's di Napoli right here at the Casablanca Hotel Times Square. There are few things so essential to a classic New York City experience than a great meal in a lively Italian restaurant. Our guests enjoy room service from Tony’s but why not enjoy their incredibly friendly service and distinctively New York atmosphere when it is so convenient to access through the "secret door" just off the lobby. We are thrilled you enjoyed it, and we hope to have you back soon!

Sincerely,
Adele Gutman

“Oasis in the heart of Times Square”

This was our 2nd stay at Casablanca and it did not disappoint. This hotel is warm and cozy with a friendly and accommodating staff. It's location is stellar, walking distance to all the theater district highlights. My husband had arranged champagne and delicious gourmet cupcakes in honor of my milestone birthday that we were in town to celebrate. Our room, esp the king size bed, was cozy and comfortable. I love the amenities (robes, slippers, great toiletries). Rick's Cafe is located on the 2nd floor where breakfast and happy hour are served. But there's always coffee and tea & cookies available throughout the day. It's a great value for the money, esp. how they offer a discounted, pay-in-advance option. Can not say enough good things about this hotel!

“Great Boutique Hotel”

We absolutely loved our stay at The Casablanca. The service and location were incredible. Stepping out of the craziness of Times Square into a warm and welcoming environment was like coming home. Rick's Cafe was very enjoyable for both breakfast and happy hour. Every employee from the front desk, to Rick's Cafe, to the housekeeping staff were wonderful. Special mention to Lili in Rick's Cafe who really went above and beyond in service. The location of The Casablanca is right in the heart of Times Square. The rooms are very nice. They do have an odor at times from the adjacent restaurant, and the rooms in the back have some vent noise from a building next door. But, I would definitely choose this hotel again because of the service, warmth, cleanliness, and feeling of safety that is very unique for a city hotel, especially in New York.

“Very nice hotel in Times Square”

I looked a January stay here based on reviews in Trip Advisor. All in all, a really lovely, small hotel which puts a premium on service and guest comfort. What we liked:
2nd floor is a large reception/breakfast area where guests can hang out, use the computer, and help themselves to complimentary coffee/tea, etc, throughout the day/night. The hotel serves a substantial continental breakfast each morning, which is included in the room price and hosts a happy hour with wine & cheese in late afternoon. Decor is exotic, Moroccan-inspired. Rooms are small (to be expected), but well-designed and comfortable.
CONS: There's no individual climate-control in the rooms, and it was HOT. The staff helped us make adjustments so it was bearable, but beware if you need that option to sleep comfortably. Also, our room was on the front of the hotel and it was NOISY due to construction, at least on Saturday morning. You're literally steps from Times Square, so location can't be beat if you're there to see shows. Concierge was also very helpful in scoring last-minute tickets for us. I'd come back, but I'd request a room in the back and/or higher floor (I think we were on the 6th).

Room Tip: If you're noise adverse, notify the staff when booking. Rooms on the front can let in loud stre...
