“Amazing Experience”

I recently stayed @ The Mercer for the 1st time & had an amazing stay!! The overall deisign of the hotel is very loft-like, with pure white walls, amazing lighting, cool concrete floors in the lobby & clean, simple interiors. I arrived very early in the morning around 9 & was given immed. access to my room & was also upgraded to an awesome studio (#210) The bathroom was great, with a huge soaking tub, bath salts, amazing scented candles, large bottles of FACE stockholm products (loved the lavender bubble bath & protein shampoo!!), nice shower w/ great pressure (actually, the tub & shower water pressure was super strong!!), a small (details) jar w/ condoms, mints, shower cap, cotton pads & q-tips & really high quality finishes & again, beautiful light fixtures. The entire room had mood lighting w. dimmer switches, which I personally love. A welcome amenity w/ a hand written card & a plate of fresh cookies was so thoughtful & a really lovely touch, as was the single Calla Lillie on the desk. The bed was very comfy, w/ great pillows & soft linens that were nice & cool during the Summer. The oval desk & low lying table are signatures of the Mercers interior Designer (Christian Liagre) & were very comfy & eye pleasing. My room overlooked Prince St w/ 2 huge windows with fantastic black-out shades! You can hear a bit of street noise, but I live in the city, so this wasn't a problem & you really can't hear very much of it. The mini-bar has a great selection & I consumed multiple items (reasonably priced as well) & the closet is spacious with light weight robes, slippers, umbrella, plenty of hangers, etc. My room also had a long hallway w/ a large mirror that I also loved. Super high ceiling w/ a great fan in the room/bath area as well!! I just loved the feel of the room, the light, airy design, the amazing tub & the high quality finishes. The food from Mercer Kitchen is very good. The Steamed Shrimp Salad is insanely good!! Kelly, Angela & Laura at the Front Desk are great....super helpful, kind & engaging, with a very hip, relaxed attitude that is so great in a hotel. I had a slight noise issue down the hall from my room & Angela handled it extremely well. When I requested for a late check-out until 2, it was no problem, which was so nice! Chris at the Front Desk is also amazing- he checked me in, gave me a tour of the room & was very sweet, polite & friendly! This is one of my favorite hotels in the city & I had such an amazing time!

Best Wishes,
Patrick Winkler

“Hmmm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2011 via mobile

Hi

Staying for two nights
Changed from the soho grand where we normally stay

Door man on the spot
Reception nice and quick but no room ready at noon

Standard room small and boring
Bed too short for me being 6.5

We did see mike meyers

Will rather stay at soho grand and save usd 200 per day

All in all a dull experience

“Trendy hotel in an amazing location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2011

I have stayed here a couple of times. This hotel is one of the trendiest in Soho. Don't be surprised if you see a celebrity or paparazzi outside waiting for one. The reception is nice and the service is good. The normal cost per night is 500 plus which is a little expensive. The hotel is in a great spot for a girls weekend of shopping.

“Luxury and Quality - but they know it !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2011

We stayed at the Mercer after spending 2 nights at the Greenwich hotel (Tribeca – see my review).

There’s no doubt about it, the Mercer is the place to stay and be seen if you’re in Soho however given the cost and the status of the hotel I think I expected more at times. One example was that I was contacted by concierge the day before via email asking me what time I was arriving. I asked if we could have an early check-in (1 p.m.) to which the reply from Matthew Kranz was that the hotel would do their absolute best to try and accommodate us. We arrived at 1 p.m to be told it was not ready. No problems, we dumped our bags and went to explore Soho. We arrived back at 3:30 p.m. and told it still wasn’t ready. Not very happy.

Having said that the room was amazing - big double bath, walk in shower, massive bed etc, the guys on the door very friendly and helpful especially getting us in to the Submercer for a drink. This is definitely worth a visit trip – very cool.

The hotel also accommodated a late check for us on the final day making up for the earlier lapse.

Completely loved the stay but for us it’s the Greenwich everytime.
