“What do you expect?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

We stayed here one night on our way back home to Texas.

The man at the front desk was very nice.

Yes, it looks grungy from the outside, yes the rooms aren't the cleanest, yes there are BBQ pits outside, yes it may not be the safest, yes construction and oil workers probably live here. This is all obvious.

But ... Our sheets were clean, our bed was comfy, and we were totally safe. Average hotel prices these days are well over $100 a night. So ... what do you think you are going to get from a place that only charges $50? You got it ... a place that is not as nice.

We probably won't stay here again but for the short 12 hours we were there ... it was just fine.

“Do NOT stay. Working on reimbursement”

This is the worst experience I've had with any hotel. Despite being a very polite individual, I was greeted rudely over the phone. At check-in, they used no compute system and had a mess of papers. I didn't get any kind of a king suite that I reserved, and I don't believe they have a king suite. We went into our room to see 2 beds like a normal room. I couldn't see the full condition of the room since the only working light was in the bathroom. I'm working on getting a reimbursement, but doubtful considering I can't get a hold of the manager. Teribble...

“Don't do it!”

The red flags are there from the start... They have a webite but all your ppwk is held and handled on paper forms(shady). Breakfast is a cereal dispenser and a gallon of milk on the counter. Rooms smell of disinfectant and restrooms have paint over mold. When finally checking out, the person at the counter pulls out a small calculator and you're handed a tiny, non-itemized paper receipt.

“UNSAFE, NASTIEST PLACE I'VE EVER SEEN!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

Only reason we considered this place was because it was walking distance to auto stores and to the mechanic that was going to fix our car after radiator and transmission blew out on first day of our road trip. Lobby was yucky, and stank of Indian food, but I thought it would be fine as long as room was ok. THEY GAVE US KEY TO A ROOM THAT WAS OCCUPIED. I opened the door to see someone's golf clubs, tv was on, and heard noises in the bathroom. Normally, that would have been enough for us to walk, but husband and I are traveling with three kids, and were super rushed to unload car and take to angel of a mechanic who agreed to fix our radiator at 7:00 pm on a Saturday, so we asked for another room. SECOND ROOM HAD UNMADE BEDS AND WAS A TOTAL MESS. We get the hell outta there. All the nastiness is on top of all the obvious repairs needed. Even $15 a night would be asking too much for this dump. Oh, and let's not forget about the GHETTO PEOPLE who live here. Little BBQs and folding chairs outside many of the rooms. POOL IS A NASTY SWAMP. Feel like I need a shower just from seeing this place.

“Poor excuse for a Hotel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

Do Not Stay HERE! I don't even know where to start. The professional photos that are on the trip advisors site are fake. There is no building, no suite rooms like pictured. There is just an old run down Holiday Inn that someone independently owns.

When we arrived to the Executive Suite they had lost my husband room reservation that he placed. But we’re not even sure of this cause the front desk clerk didn't bother looking for it and just placed us in a room. The lobby looked like it was under construction and smelt like a pool. So we went up to the room and most of the room numbers had fallen off completely. The hotel filled in the numbers that had fallen off with a red marker. (Look at pictures)

There were rooms that were just filled with mattresses but they didn’t even bother to shut the curtains so you could see right in.

Filthy Filthy Filthy

When we finally got in our room it was unclean, run down and in dire need of maintenance. The security lock had been pulled out of the door and was unusable. There was a hole in the wall that had been patched over but very poorly. The light fixture was missing from the wall and left on the vanity. The deadbolt for the door that secures you from the other room was missing. The vents had caked on dust, and none of the tissue dispensers had tissue. The ironing board was moldy. The drawers on the dresser wouldn’t shut properly. The sheets were old and had stains on them and to top it all off there was a LONG BLACK HAIR in the sheets!

Before we realized how bad it was. We had decided to stay the night since it was just one night and it was late. But the front desk clerk had no clean sheets to give us. Then he said he could put us in another room. When we asked to see the other room and if he could promise us it would be better than the other. He told us we couldn’t see the other room and he couldn’t guarantee it would be any better. So we decided to leave.

We left to the Steven’s Best Western and it was awesome. It was a palace compared to the Executive Suites. I don’t even know how the Executive Suites is still open for business. They should have been shut down a long time ago.
