Last year we ate at the Cafe twice for breakfast. We had no idea there was an Inn here too. This year we decided to stay closer to the areas we were hiking....The Inn is a throw back to pre-large properties that are impersonal and sterile...back to Route 66 type motels We loved it. It was clean and comfortable and very quiet. The rate was very reasonable for the accommodation. The food is always excellent...this time we had dinner and breakfast. The service was first rate!

The Capitol Reef Inn & Cafe looks a bit shabby from the road but it is comfortable, clean and probably the best deal in town. Our room had two queen beds, a nice tv with cable ('tho not the channel for baseball - tsn). The staff were nice and the food at the cafe was very good.

After a somewhat long wait to be seated the owner came out from behind the kitchen to move things along. Service thereafter good and friendly. Extensive menu for very small town place. All our meals were excellent. Portions large and fresh and great value. Also charming decor.

This hotel has good style that fits the place it is situated. It has a restaurant which looks very good and prices are friendly too. The problem is that the reception, gift shop and restaurant has only one woman who takes care of everything. You have to wait until she serves the food when you want to checked out for example. Or when we checked in there were people purchasing things from gift shop. The woman that runs this place is very busy. She tryed to be nice to you but she had no time for it.
Next the blanked in our room was dirty. My husband had to use our own blanked to sleep on it as we stayed only for one night and did not want to argue and explain the situation. On the table and around the whole room I found dead night butterflies. I was afraid to sleep there as I felt that the place is not clean enough.
There was a jacuzzi outside, but it was covered and it looked like is not working. I am not sure.
At the end. The room looks very nice but it needs to be cleaned better. The owner tries to do the best job, but she should hire some staff to help her.
I would not choose this hotel next time. But if you get a good price it is fine for short stay.
