“Best Scone I've ever had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2010

Oyster Cove has great views of the water and is located at the end of a quiet road just steps from the beach. I've stayed here twice before and each time I leave feeling refreshed and renewed. As an artist, I'm in awestruck by Wellfleet's simple beauty and ever-changing light. The hosts were charming and the food was terrific. Sandy bakes the best ginger scones I've ever tasted. THere are so many great activities in Wellfleet - from gallery hoping to fishing and lounging on the beach. Its a perfect getaway.

“Nice location but moldy-smelling beach suite”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

My family and I stayed in the beach suite. As other reviewers have pointed out, the view is spectacular and can be seen from all rooms but one. Walking along the cove, and enjoying the beauty of this area was the highlight of the trip. The suite was also nicely and newly decorated. The main problem of our stay was the persistent smell of mold/mildew. The "suite" is the lower level of the house (technically a basement), and as such must have had a mold problem at one time that was never totally eradicated. This odor made it difficult to stay, and we had to leave early. The hosts denied the problem existed, and suggested that I (I'm allergic to mold) sleep on the sofa or leave. That was not what my family paid $480 a night for. As for the breakfasts---if you are staying here with a hungry family you will need to supplement your breakfast as the offerings are not bountiful and there are no hot foods: fruit, bread/scones, hard boiled egg, and a container of yogurt on a tray that you bring down to the suite. Coffee was "do it yourself." All in all, the location/view made the trip worthwhile, but we left early feeling disappointed, and like we had overpaid for the experience.

“Nice room and lovely location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2007

We stayed at this B&B for several nights during the summer. The house is in a lovely location right on the bay with beautiful views of the harbor, especially at sunset. The house is a short walk to beachfront, although this is really for walking or sitting - it's not really a swimming beach. We stayed in the upstairs unit (for a couple - one queen size bed). The room was quite large with a couch, TV, microwave, basic dinnerware and cutlery and windows around 3 sides. The bathroom was nice, with plenty of towels available, although the stall shower was on the small size. The room is up a short flight of stairs, as is the deck off of the room.
Our only complaint with our stay was that the continental-type breakfast was the same every morning and not very good at that. It consisted of a few pieces of zucchini bread, some chilled fruit in a bowl and I think a cold egg. You can make coffee in the unit; none is served. We ended up going out for breakfast in the morning just to get some hot coffee and muffins or cooked eggs.
Overall though, this B&B is in a lovely home, is a spacious unit and nicely decorated, and the town of Wellfleet can't be beat for location. It's a picturesque town with wonderful restaurants, shops, beaches, activities, walks etc.

“Oyster Cove B & B is delightful”

After getting a reference from another local B&B owner, our family consisting of three couples and one 2 year old settled on staying in the Beach Suite at Oyster Cove. There are two very spacious and one reasonably rspacious bedrooms, a working kitchen and dining area and a sizable living room. The place was great, we had plenty of room (only one bathroom though, so be prepared to go in shifts in advance) and were never in each other's way. Sandy, our host, was extremely friendly and we had no problem with our breakfast - all freshly baked muffins and scones and some fruit, also there's a fantastic selections of coffees and teas and a single serving coffee machine. The Suite has a good size TV and wide selection of videos (we didn't watch them but we could have) and a nice little stereo. The view outside was beautiful and it was the perfect apartment size for a family get together. It was an incredibly pleasant experience and we look back on it fondly. We may even stay again next year!!

“Great view, but we were hungry”

We (two couples) stayed at the Oyster Cove Bed and Breakfast for four nights and enjoyed ourselves enormously. The place was lovely with an enchanting view of Wellfleet harbor, the beds were comfortable, and Sandy (our hostess) gave us excellent advise about what to see and do in Wellfleet and the surrounding area. However, the continental breakfast was EXTREMELY skimpy and not tasty and the kitchen was lacking a stove or oven, so the only cooking we could do was in a microwave or outdoor grill. If you do not expect to do much cooking and bring in your own breakfast yogurt, etc, then you will enjoy yourself here.
