This was the first time I stayed in Chinle also the home of Canyon de Chelly. I am a professional photographer and my assignment was to take pictures of Canyon de Chelly in the winter. It is beautiful. I understand it is even more beautiful in the spring, summer & fall months. The Navajo people are quiet but friendly. The motel is simple but super clean and updated. Before I made reservations, I checked on the swimming pool availability. Best Western not only has an indoor heated pool but it is the only hotel in Chinle with a year round open pool. The Junction Restaurant's food which is on property was really good. Prices are very reasonable and the food is homemade and large portions.

This was my first trip to Canyon de Chelly (Chinle, AZ). Understand that this is the Navajo Nation. The Navajo people are simple people and so are their surroundings. My visit was for business reasons however, I got a brief history of Canyon de Chelly National Monument from a local and can't wait to bring my family back for a jeep tour to the canyon. The Best Western Hotel is an older property but very clean and very well maintained. After a long field trip, I enjoyed the hot tub and indoor heated swimming pool. They have a restaurant on site that offers an extensive menu and a Pizza Hut Express. The food is good and large servings.

I normally don't go on line to complete these surveys as I do not have time, however, after staying at his hotel, I decided that it was important. This was my first trip to Canyon de Chelly. The Canyon is beautiful even during the winter. I decided to stay at the Best Western. I am glad I did. My room was extremely clean. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. I was surprised as I had been told that the Navajo people can be really quiet and reserved. The hotel was quiet. I slept like a baby. I had a lovely breakfast at the restaurant on property. I tried a Navajo dish called the Whitehouse. The restaurant is bright and cheery. Huge portions! Good prices and great selections on the menu. Happy travels.

I was immediately impressed with this property when I checked in at the motel. The front desk staff was friendly and extremely helpful in giving area attraction and tour information. The Navajo gift shop is full of interesting items to purchase from pottery to fascinating books about the Navajo culture & Code Talkers. Guests have access to the business center computers however, the property does offer free wireless in the rooms should you bring your computer. This is an older property however, very well maintained and is clean. My room was clean. I checked my mattress. It appeared to be brand new. Upon exiting my room to go to the Junction Restaurant for dinner, I met up with the night time security. He was patrolling the parking lot. The Junction Restaurant is on the motel property and appears to be recently remodeled. The menu offers a wide selection of American & Navajo food. I opted for a Pizza and hot wings from their Pizza Hut Express which is also on site. Excellent food! This is the place to stay. My understanding is that it is the only hotel in town that offers a sauna, hot tub and year round heated indoor swimming pool. I noticed previous comments about brownish shower water. I did not experience that. I was told that at times this may happen due to the mineral sediments in the well. It's clean! I have experienced this before at many locations throughout my travel! Have a safe trip.
