Positives. I really liked the room. It was tastefully decorated. It looked new. The wooden tiles in the bathroom and in the foyer made it look modern and the carpets are a good look too. There was also a lovely lcd tv. The bed was very comfortable (I think its the beds from Holiday Inn) and the sheets and blankets they used felt great (again I think its Holiday Inn's). The staff were friendly which was nice. Shower head had good pressure and spread.

Negatives. The towels were still the same towels from Holiday Inn (they had the tag!), the phone still had the Holiday Inn logo on it, wiring was exposed and some of the wall tiles were not connected properly exposing what was underneath it. Its clear that they've rushed to open.

Overall, I feel that this La Quinta has benefited from taking over a Holiday Inn. It has a Holiday Inn feel about it from the beds to the shower head. I enjoyed my stay nonetheless and if I ever return to San Diego I would definately stay here if the price is right.

Stay away from this property! While it was a good price, the entire location was under heavy renovation. Nowhere on the web site did it list this. Elevators inspection was out of date, flooring was masking taped at transitions, exposed electrical wiring in the bathroom, no TV channel guide, pool and hot tub were broken and clearly not maintained. Hotel is about to change names so beware!

This hotel is in an area that is easy to access all areas in San Diego from. Easy on and off the freeway. Short drive to the beach, right near mission bay and walking distance to In n out Burger. The Rooms are very nice and the Staff was very friendly. The continental breakfast here is also very good.

This establishment is now Mission Bay Lodge (name changed earlier this month, after no longer affiliated with Holiday Inn Express), so it is a little bit confusing right now trying to check out reviews. This motel is convenient, clean and friendly. It is easy to find and convenient to the highway. The staff members really went the extra mile in helping when there was a last minute change of plans concerning a reservation, and I was very impressed with their hands-on, can-do attitude. The breakfast was excellent, and provided a great way to start a day in San DIego.
