“Good Conference Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

There's many things I like about this property. There are a few negatives.

Positives First:
- Love the location, close to airport but with a harbor/bay view
- My room (on 12 floor) had a balcony facing the water which was very nice.
- Club lounge on the 13 or 14 floor is very decent. The evening snacks are great and tasty. Examples include fried chicken. The breakfast spread is adequate. Bagels, eggs, oatmeal, fruits, small selection of ham and cheese, juices, tea/coffee. No hot breakfast. The views are phenomenal. The sitting is comfy.
- The rooms facing the bay (ie. with the view are great)
- Its a very short drive to the Gas Lamp Quarter; maybe 7 minutes or less. Its literally two minutes to the airport.
- Rooms are not luxurious but very comfortable. Decor is reasonable, in blue.

Negatives
- the hotel does not have good restaurants. The restaurants share one kitchen, and depending on your luck, the wait and service for food can range from 5 to 25 minutes. Its a big drawback. Having said that, the service, when you do get it, is reasonable. The waitstaff try very hard to please.

The fitness center is reasonable with a wide range of equipment. There are decent pools, but I didn't get to use them.

All in all, I would stay again, as long as I am not counting to eat at their restaurants. There is a starbucks at the property.

Room Tip: 12th floor facing the bay or with water views are excellent.

Dear L L,
Thank you for taking the time to post your travel tips through TripAdvisor. We are delighted that you enjoyed your guestroom on the 12th floor, access to our Club Lounge with continental breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres, and our lovely views. Additionally, we are disappointed of your dissatisfaction with the waiting time in our restaurants and we truly apologize if you waited as long as 25 minutes. While waiting times exceeding 10 minutes for food service are few and far between, we pride ourselves with providing our guests with prompt service and thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope you will be back for another visit with us in the future.
Warm Regards,
Daniela Delgado

“Average Airport hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Sheraton is in fact two hotels, the Sheraton and Bay Towers some 600 yards around the corner. Similar to previous reviewer, after having parked my car and gone to reception, I had to drive around to the Bay Hotel to my room. Hotel is in a great position, close to the airport next to the water. Bars are quiet as was the restaurant. Be warned however, a quick visit to the Gaslamp District will cost you @18 USD one way if you want to party. Otherwise, the Sheraton provides all the usual amenities, nothing special.

Dear DMSe7en,
Thank you for taking the time to rate us through TripAdvisor. We are glad that overall you had a pleasant stay with us and enjoyed the lovely views. Regarding the servicing of your guestroom, it is common practice for hotels to service the rooms between the hours of 8AM and 4:30PM. Upon request, we are able to accommodate the time of the room cleaning. If you have any additional details of your stay you would like to provide, I welcome the opportunity to contact me directly at Daniela.Delgado@Sheraton.com at your earliest convenience. Thank you again for your comments and we hope you will be back for another visit in the future.
Warm Regards,
Daniela Delgado

“A reasonable airport hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

Convenient for the airport, though plane noise is not too noticeable in the guest rooms. Clean room, if in need of renovation (though the check in staff implied it had been recently renovated). Definitely worth staying in the main tower. If you want more than a standard airport hotel, this is not for you.

The restaurant was the disappointment. The staff wearing badly coffee stained shirts, the food average, with little attention to detail (e.g. The soup comes with biscuits still in plastic packets) yet relatively high priced. Few alternative options in the area.

Dear nhhk,
Thank you for reviewing us through TripAdvisor. Although we are happy that overall you enjoyed your stay with us, we are sorry to learn of your disappointment with our restaurant. While it is common practice for our soup to be accompanied by oyster crackers in a packet, we would like to learn more specifics regarding the attire for the servers. We would be grateful if you have a chance to provide us with more specific feedback at Daniela.Delgado@Sheraton.com to research this situation further to give us an opportunity for improving. Again, thank you for your invaluable feedback and we hope to welcome you back on another occasion.
Warm Regards,
Daniela Delgado

“Convenient to the airport, but won't select for a stay in the city.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My expectations were not too high. I selected this hotel because it was convenient to the airport. I had stayed at this hotel many years ago for a large conference.

I was pleased to have an upgrade into an executive suite as an SPG Platinum member.

As is typical of large hotels, it was a long walk to the room. The room was old but had been updated to meet Sheraton standards.

The club floor lounge was very large. The food was limited. The staff in the club lounge was very attentive.
