“Below par from the regular sheraton family hotels”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

Pros: nice location
Pillows are perfect
Near restaurant and shopping center

Gym and workout room perfect . With updated equipment

Cons: carpet is dirty
Smells like pet ( dogs). This hotel allows small pets
HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR INTERNET
The hotel needs to be updated to meet the standards of a Sheraton Hotels.

Recommendation: if you are a light sleeper choose room facing hillside for more peace and quite. Rooms facing freeway is a little bit noisy but I preferred this since it is a nicer view.

Thank you for the feedback from the stay. We certainly are happy to have such a great location near top-rated shopping and numerous dining options. We also get many compliments on the Sheraton white bedding package and other in room amenities such as our 42" flat panel TV's in every room wiht HD programming. The new Fitness facility is definitely something we're pleased to offer as well.
I was sorry to hear that the carpets weren't as clean as you would expect and although we are pet freindly, we do deep clean those rooms between stays. I have followed up with the department managers on this and assure you it will be adressed.
In addition, we do have complimentary wireless internet and business center in the lobby, however we do have a nominal fee for use in the guestrooms.
Many of our guests do enjoy the city view rather than the hillside view, thank you for pointing this out.
Please let us know when you are back in the area and we'll ensure you are well taken care of. Best regards,
Team Sheraton Mission Valley

“The Heart of San Diego is in Mission Valley”

As someone who loves San Diego, I am always looking for that perfect hotel. Balanced between location and price, the Sheraton Mission Valley is the ideal place. 15 minutes from downtown, 15 minutes from Mission Beach, the location is perfect.

I thoroughly enjoyed the service here as well. I have stayed at a different Sheraton in the San Diego area and left felling as my every request was bothersome to the staff. Not here. Every interaction was genuine and made me feel as if I was the only one there (even while eating in their busy restaurant).

Loved my stay...I'll be back.

“Great location for local attractions!!”

The hotel was in a great location if you have your own transport....less than 10 min drive to sea world and zoo! Shopping Centre + Cinema and restaurants across the road. Room was nice, if a bit dated, comfy bed, big tv! Go for a hill view as it is not on the road side which may be noisy!! No safe in room!! Swimming pool area seemed in need of some tlc! Taxi to gaslamp quarter approx $20 one way....nice for dinner/drinks!

Thank you for the excellent rating. We are very pleased with our location, being minutes from all of San Diego's attractions. We are also glad you enjoyed the 42" flat panel TV's which have HD programming, and our Sheraton bedding. W

hat we are most proud of, however, are our excellent ratings when it comes to our staff, the friendliest in Mission Valley. Lastly, we do have safety deposit boxes at the front desk and look to install in-room safes this year.

We look forward to making improvements on each recommendation and look forward to your return!

“Decent Sheraton in San Diego *”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

(Note: I am a Starwood Platinum Level Guest)

I have stayed at this Sheraton property ever since it became a Sheraton. I usually stay anywhere from 4 to 10 nights per stay and am almost always upgraded to the 12th (Club Floor) or 14th floor (2 room suites). A hillside view room is always quieter (even numbered rooms). The hotel is comfortable and the rooms have the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds.

Having stayed here on multiple occasions, I have noticed a rather high turnover in staff in the last two years. It seems every time I check-in, there are all new front desk clerks. Everyone is very pleasant, yet overall training could be slightly improved (especially around Sheraton standards).

* Addressing recent comments about security: The hotel has NO security cameras and what security at night there exists is very MINIMAL.The 12th & 14th floor USED to be controlled access in the elevator, however two years ago this was stopped and anyone can access these floors - strangely, the doors from the stairwells that access the floors still require a key. I do believe that the hotel does have a security problem (inside and outside), which is why I never leave a laptop, iPad, or similar device in my room when I am not there. Also, make sure the room door clicks shut, some doors don't close on their own.

Rooms in general are comfortable, however I believe there needs to be a renovation of soft furnishings, wallpaper, carpeting & drapes. Renovation of the banquet rooms were being done on my most recent visit - nice - but do the guest rooms too !

Club Lounge: As with most domestic Sheratons, this hotel has a lounge the size of two standard guest rooms. The lounge offers a very limited evening service of 1 or 2 appetizers, and a small selection of sodas & water. There is a $3 charge for beer & wine. There is a nice small continental breakfast served from 6:30-9am every day (unfortunately not longer on weekends as with most Sheratons!). The ladies that staff the lounge in the am's & pm's are very sweet and always remember me by name. The lounge itself has never been renovated and is in need of sprucing up. The furniture is too big for a small lounge and provides little area for seated breakfast - especially on weekends.

The complimentary parking for Platinum guests is a nice perk not found at other Starwood properties. Of course, Platinum level guests get comp internet access here and at all Starwood Hotels worldwide.

I will continue to stay at this property as it is most convenient for me and is a nice Starwood choice if I don't want to be in thedowntown area. One comment for the management is that I don't like being told that things are the way they are because of Remington. The last time I checked, there was a Sheraton name on the hotel and a Sheraton flag outside!

Room Tip: Quieter rooms have hillside views and are even numbered

The room was a lovely size and was very modern. The foot was great and the staff just go out of their way to help! Such a pleasant stay and would highly reccomend it! Nothing but great words for this hotel!
