My wife and I decided that a "staycation" might be nice for a night, so I looked up some deals online and found the Kings Inn for $60/night for a poolside room.

The hotel is located in San Diego's Hotel Circle, conveniently off the 8. Not a major deal for us as we're local, but very convenient for access to much of what San Diego has to offer.

The hotel is one of the older hotels in the area and as such it does show some signs of wear and tear. If you are concerned about things like some chipped paint or an ill-fitting light fixture, then you might want to shop elsewhere. However, if you want a clean room with friendly service and a great room rate, Kings Inn is an excellent choice.

The pool and hot tub area were nice and we took advantage of both. I would certainly stay here again and recommend this hotel to out of town guests.

Stay for 3 nights, went to a chargers football game. Very good location for football. Hotel is older, but comfortable. Staff are very friendly. It's a little hard to get to if you're heading West on I-8. Would stay there again.

Old but very clean, has character, small bathroom, quiet, easy access to I-8, excelent value. Didn't try reataurant too many others around.

We flew into San Diego from Minneapolis and stayed at the Kings Inn. We were very pleased with the room--it wasn't a Hilton but for the money it was a very good value. The hot tub and pool were very nice after a long day traveling. Good location to see the San Diego sites.
