My wife and I spent a week in San Diego at the Handlery (Jan 21st to Jan. 28th, 2012). We booked a room with a king sized bed. It was on the main floor and by the pool. The hotel staff were friendly and helped us with our travel plans in San Diego. One of the hotel's pluses besides a great location and nice resort was it's shuttle to the main attractions.You could be driven to the zoo, Old Town, shopping centers, Sea World and Balboa Park. The shuttle will also pick you up at any of the sites listed above and take you back to the hotel. The drivers, Rich and Jeff, are friendly and help you get to any place you want to. If you are looking for a hotel with a great location and free shuttle to the major attractions,I would definitely stay at the Handlery.

We stayed at the Handlery hotel in San diego In jan 2012 and we had a great time. We had a guy called geoff looking after us and he drives u anywhere u want ands it's complimentary. The hotel is clean,friendly and great value for money. We will definitely be staying there again next year.

We enjoyed our stay at at the Handlery. The room was very clean and quiet (even with the interstate nearby). A great plus was the free shuttle to Balboa Park, SeaWorld and Old Town. Drivers Jeff and Rich both went out of their way to make our stay fun and accommodate to our needs. Appreciated the complimentary newspaper available at the front desk. The front desk staff were very helpful in getting us specific information on where a movie was available and in locating a restaurant. Would definitely stay there again. If you book via an internet package and the package indicates you have free parking and wifi, make sure you mention that specifically or you will be charged. If I could have changed anything (and these are nits) I would have liked the public computer located near the lobby to have been free and for there not to have been bottles of Aqua Fina in the rooms that incur a charge of 3.50 if you drink them.

We stayed for four nights for a business trip and had a great stay, although the hotel is probably better suited to holiday makers. The rooms are tradiitonal but have everything you need and the staff were more than happy to bring anything we needed from extra coat hangers to a Blackberry charger. The pool area is lovely and spacious plus there is a pool bar, restaurant and indoor bar area all of which have a good variety of food from snacks to full meals. The overwhelming attribute of this hotel though is the helpful and friendly staff who could not have been better. Particularly Dan in the pool bar and the complimentary shuttle drivers Jeff and Rich who were happy to ferry us around San Diego and both gave us great recommendations of where to eat, places we would never have found by ourselves. Overall we had a great time in San Diego, which was enhanced by a great stay at the Handlery Hotel and Resort.
