I don't say that lightly having stayed at mostly HIEs in the US, Asia, and Europe. The shuttle service to and from the airport was great. What made it even better was the complimentary service to Old Town, Seaworld, and the zoo. The drivers were always friendly and prompt. The hotel is located near the freeway and railway but our room was on the opposite side so it was minimal. The free wifi was reliable but it makes you sign back in with your password each day. The speed wasn't blazing but it served its purpose for e-mail and web browsing. I downloaded a few TV shows for the flight back and it took longer than my 10MB connection at home. If you've eaten at HIE before, the cinnamon rolls are hot and ready. Plenty of coffee at breakfast and 24/7 by the front desk. Priority members receive a small gift bag upon arrival. The free coffee 24/7 was nice since I wake up much earlier than breakfast serving time (6am). Two newspapers are available first come first serve, USA Today and the local paper. Food items include the juice bar, pancake maker (flat, no taste), eggs (avoid), biscuits were okay, the gravy helps a little. Includes sausage and egg omelet (tasty, not bad at all), milk and cereals, boiled eggs, amd yogurt. Nothing really impressive to write home about except the coffee with favored creamers and the warm cinnamon rolls. The king bed room was huge, the bathroom was the largest of all HIEs we've been in. The jacuzzi was a nice touch, including the TV on the wall. The refrigerator came in handy for cold drinks and leftovers. The staff went out of their way for anything we needed, and always with a smile. Staying at this location made our experience in San Diego very enjoyable and worry free. You won't be disappointed, good luck!
