you will be paying for the view. the unit that we stayed in was incredibly outdated and dirty. i realize that this is condo living and not to expect the cleaning that comes with hotel living. got it. but the overall condition of the unit was a mess. the carpets in our unit were spot ridden. the bathroom not only needed a total overhaul, but even a few updates here and there would have done wonders. the furniture need a wipe down and wash. we too had a problem with our dishwasher cleaning the dishes so we did a lot of hand washing. the garage and building was secure which i so appreciate. never did i feel unsecure. it's a quiet place with PLENTY of rules which again i have no problem with. i figured it kept out the riff raff of college students which is good. you are fairly close to garnet st that does house the "bar scene" but far enough away from having to deal with the noise. someone had previously noted that the spotlights above the building attracted beach games at night. i really enjoyed that aspect. it was fun to watch and there was never any traffic after 10:00 and we left our slider open to listen to the waves during the night. perfect white noise in my book. the proximity of the building is fantastic. close in walking and driving distance to those tourist sites in san diego. i wonder though if i will return to this location. again, you get an amazing view, but the room ( and this sounds like a running complaint ) is quite filthy and management doesn't seem to really take this seriously. or else this would not be an issue in these reviews. i hope that management will listen to those that write these reviews and take it up a notch.

We had a two-bedroom condo which was located on the ninth floor, and what a fantastic view of the ocean sunsets and beach, the room could use some upgrading paint etc. The beach was very clean and plenty of sea shells to collect along the beach. Parking is underground and very secure, you need a card key to enter the building either parking or using the door entrance. Very close to great restaurants like The French Gourmet 960 Turquoise St, San Diego, CA ---------- and for Tapas Costa Brava Spanish Restaurant. 1653 Garnet Avenue, Pacific Beach, CA 92109 ----------.

We stayed at the Capri by the Sea, unit 412. The condo was fabulous with one BIG exception, the furniture. The furniture is big, probably from a McMansion. The living room has a couch that seats three and a big chair and ottoman. Seating for four at the most. The condo sleeps six. No way to be in the living room to watch tv unless you are on the floor. The tv is in a large cabinet and can only be viewed from the couch. The doors on the cabinet keep you from seeing it from the side. The bed in the master bedroom is very high. I am 5"4" tall and it comes up to my waist. If you are a little arthritic, it would be problematic to get in and out of the bed.
The kitchen is modern and well stocked. The views from every window are wonderful. Ocean front. The location is perfect. Close to everything.
If they added another chair to the living room, we would always stay there.

We could not have been happier with our stay at Capri by the sea. The beautiful views of the beach, the luxurious condos, the secure parking area, the friendly staff, the private pool, and the fully equipped cooking area were perfect for our picky party of 9. The beach really is right out the front door. The only negative feature was that beach towels - not something we normally travel with - were not provided. Both our units were well furnished; comfortable beds, stainless steel appliances, and large screen tvs...not that I would recommend spending time indoors.
