I stayed with a friend for a girl's weekend away. The grounds and architecture of the Hacienda is lovely. There are several places where guests can sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather on a patio amidst bougainvilleas. From a balcony above, you can see red-tiled roofs, rich foliage, and winding staircases. It is also right in Old Town, which I think I liked the most about the place. We didn't need to get into a car if we did not feel like it, and it's kind of nice to have a few drinks and know you can just walk home. The rooms were clean and large enough but a bit dark. It is not a luxury hotel in terms of the rooms. The shutters kept the room exceptionally dark at night--great!--but did not keep out noise much. We could hear movement upstairs, voices next door, and someone emptied trash or something early in the morning. Pool and jacuzzi nice. Free breakfast not worth it. Overall, if you plan to stay in the room a lot and you are a light sleeper, I don't recommend it. If you want to be able to hang out in a fun place without having to drive and a beautiful environment, it is great.
