My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. It's sort of in the "party" area of San Diego. Now while we weren't in San Diego to party, we still enjoyed the atmosphere at the Blue Sea Lodge.

The staff are very friendly and courteous. The rooms are good, and the ocean view rooms are really nice.

The elevators were out of service the day we checked out, which was inconvenient. But, I understand this sort of thing happens from time to time and the staff was apologetic.

If we ever visit San Diego again, we'll stay at the Blue Sea Lodge!

My wife and I booked a king partial-view room through Best Western's website. There was indeed a view of the ocean from the sliding glass door as long as no one was standing on the landing next to the pool. What we didn't notice until nightfall was a sustained rumbling coming from the vending machine / washer-dryer / ice machine room on the other side of the wall. We thought the noise came from the ice machine and asked the managers to do something about it. They finally turned it off at 10:45 pm. But the rumbling continued. It turned out to be a large fan in the wall that apparently had something to do with the ventilation system. Management said they had no other room to offer us so we had a fitful night despite earplugs.

We spoke to the manager the next day and she offered to take $50 off the bill. Blue Sea Lodge may be a fine place to stay, as other reviewers have said. Just don't let them put you in room 123.

My wife and I had the BEST stay at the Best Western PLUS Blue Sea Lodge. The staff was so welcoming and made us feel like family. We enjoyed our ocean view balcony and great sunsets over the Pacific Ocean. I'd suggest splurging and going for a suite! Can't wait to get back to the Blue Sea Lodge.

Little do you expect what awaits on the inside when you pull into the parking lot. That all changes once you walk inside. The builing is very clean and fresh and offers great views of Pacific Beach. The staff is helpful and considerate. There are shops and bars seconds away, yet the crashing waves void out the sound of the music and people. It was a refreshing way to end each of my work days. Thank you.
