had transferred her from the Manchester Grand hyatt as had two back to back meetings. very nice hotel. room not as big as the hyatt but much nicer and well appointed. felt more modern and more high end.
Staff absolutely lovely. there was no problem getting a late check out on the sunday I left.
Very well sited for the convention centre and the gaslamp district. There is a lot of baseball memorabilia around the place. a bit lost on me but probably great if you are a fan. also has a bridge to petco park.

We were able to get a bargain rate at the Omni in San Diego via Priceline. At first, we couldn't believe our good fortune. The hotel is beautiful and appears brand new. The rooms were much larger than typical. The location cannot be beat and is right near the convention center. The issue: the plumbing is so so loud. Everytime our neighbor went to the bathroom or took a shower we could hear the plumbing. This was true for our upstairs neighbor as well as those on our floor. Our own toilet was so loud after use we knew we were probably waking up our fellow floor mates as well.

ill keep this short and sweet, have stayed here at least 3 times...love this hotel, love the location, the restaurant, the bar, the room service, the bright , light , airy feeling of the hotel, and mostly the gym!! quite fab!! however, just returned from a 1 night stay on the 18th floor with a shower drain that would not drain..... very devastating and unforgiving especially for a woman with long hair.... shower was simply.. a night mare... the shower filled with water and turned a what would be "Simple" shower , into an over flowing bathroom... i had to manually drain the shower myself... my advice... dont stay on the 18th floor... on another note , we ordered coffee for 2 the next morning and were delivered 1 coffee mug and 1 packet of sugar... again , we clearly ordered coffee for (2) , two , deuce , hello 2!!!!!!!!!!! love this hotel but it is really starting to show its .... you know what..... its def time to re-group , give some training, lets improve Omni, such a great hotel but im seriously fed up ... maybe time for a change.?? ....

If you're using public transportation, this location can't be beat. The city trolley runs right behind the hotel and is easy to get to. It is also about a block from the Gaslamp area, where there are many restaurants to choose from. The service at the Omni was good, too. Our room was on the 15th floor, facing the water. We did not hear the trains that others had mentioned. We liked our little balcony, and the view of the bridge/water was nice. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. However, the walls were a bit thin. Our first night (and morning) we were entertained by the lovers next door; the second night we were subjected to a party seemingly comprised of chatty, loud 20-year-olds. In a building this new, it is surprising that the soundproofing is not better. Since we stayed over a weekend, I would assume this is not as much of an issue during the week. If you stay here, I recommend you do so alone. The bathroom has louvers on the door and in between the bathroom and the main room. While this may be helpful in dissipating steam, it also means that you can hear EVERYTHING the bathroom occupant is doing. There was also a jackhammer-type noise every time anyone used the shower. You could hear the noise coming from other rooms as well. The hallway was strangely loud, too.

If I needed a place to stay on business during the week, I would most likely return to the Omni. If I was going to be in SD over the weekend, however, I would try somewhere else.
