“Management covers up intrusion into rooms”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

The hotel was in generally good condition and the location provides easy access to the stadium; however, I cannot accept the fact that the management allows vendors to OPEN YOUR HOTEL DOOR and drop off literature to restaurants. I was in the room one night and heard the door lock beep and witnessed the door open only to be stopped my the swing latch. The person opening the door pushed in a piece of paper advertising a local restaurant. When I complained to the manager of duty he basically said that there was nothing he could do and the only people who have access keys are the management. Therefore, I was wrong. I hate to think what would have happened if the intruder had other motives or I had a gun. The manager's name who "assisted" me is Chris Michie Assistant Manager. Here is what he sent me "I was the gentleman at the front desk you spoke with about the issue of someone trying to open your door while putting a flier under it during your stay. As I stated to you we are an outdoor facility so we cannot limit the access to our hotel from outside guests but I want to assure you that there is no possible way that any person who is not an employee has any type of key to any door or building on our property. There is no master pass key that any one has access to after hours other than the senior managers at this location."

I am truly sorry for the attempted intrusion you may have experienced during your stay. We have a modern magnetic keycard locking system which allows no unauthorized access. The safety of our guests and associates is the number one priority at our hotel. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Chuck Ault, General Manager lq6119gm@laquinta.com.

“Good, clean, close to attractions”

This was nothing special in a motel but it was nice, clean, the staff was friendly and it was close to the big attractions. Book it on Priceline and it's really cheap.

“Decent hotel for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

For the price, it was a comfortable and clean room. Decent beds. Good location with access to mall. Cons: older TV, slow Internet (Wayport) access, and so-so breakfast. However, very satisfied.

Room Tip: Ask for room to the back - less road noise.

“Poor customer service, COLD uncomfortable rooms. Thumbs down La Quinta.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

Do not stay here. I stayed for almost a week from 05-10 Dec 2011, and recieved poor service from the get go. I chose this location because i use La Quinta frequently and because of its great location in Mission Valley and easy access to highways. However, this location DID NOT live up to the standards I've come to expect from La Quinta. First, our rooms were VERY cold and we were provided nothing but bed liners for our beds. I requested comforters three times before an attendant delivered bed liners to my room saying they didn't have comforters. He then asked me, "How many times did you request these Sir?" I thought maybe he was going to apologize for the inconvienience and then upon my telling him "Three times," he mentioned, "I only need to be told once, not three times Sir. Here are your liners." I was left dumb founded as i did not give any attitude nor grief to deserve this maltreatment. My family and I set our heater but that didn't work and only blew room temperature air. Mind you its winter and nightly lows are in the 30's and 40's... I notified the front desk on several occasions and even payed them a friendly visit, but no one ever came to attempt fixing the heater. Third, house keeping is a joke and rarely if ever cleaned our room. The two times they did, dirty towels were left on the floor and trash cans were left without liners. I got to the point i was using recycled Target bags and just putting them outside the door when full since they were never taken out in the first place. I got tired of chasing down the house keepers. Fourth, as my family and i were relocating from CA to TX, the last day we brought in a moving truck and car trailor. Upon driving into the parking lot, a front desk employee came outside and told us we were ok to park our truck and trailor in addition to my car in the parking lot. So we left the car and car trailor at the hotel and took the truck to the storage facility to pack it up. Upon return, i was told by my younger sister, 22, (who is a small framed girl by the way) that she was told by the same employee that we were no longer allowed to park there due to the hotel being fully booked and that (the employee) didn't care how it was done, but the car trailor had to move immediately. So my younger sister had to ask another customer to help her pick up the front of the trailor and move it out of the parking lot all on their own without help. Mind you this thing is VERY heavy and it took them over an hour. I ended up paying the guy $50 for his troubles. I couldnt come help as i had a deadline that afternoon to have my storage emptied. We kept an eye on the parking lot that afternoon and during the night, the parking lot NEVER filled up, and in the morning had only 6 cars parked outside. Fifth, Internet at this location is slower than dial up, and finally, the pillows were thinner and worse than ones you would expect at a very cheap hotel. Overall, this ruined my last days in San Diego and I DO NOT recommend ANYONE stay here!!! Save yourself the money, heart ache, and disappointment and go somewhere else!

hotel is ok as far as cheap pet friendly hotels. I wish the maids would have wiped the furniture down where there was pee stains from a dog. Grossed me out. The first room I had, had just been bombed, for what , not sure but asked for another room.
