This hotel is all about the location! It's perfectly placed at the end of a street where you take two steps outside the hotel and you're on the beach- it's great! The street is full of restuarants & shops and we found it difficult to find a place to eat because everything looked so good. The room was small but when you're in San Diego who needs a big room anyways? Nice fixtures, clean and a comfy bed, which is always a plus! Overall, if you're looking for inexpensive, no frills hotel with a great locations and tons of stuff to do within walking distance this is your place!

Needing a place to stay while in the middle of moving, I checked into the Ocean Beach Hotel not knowing what to expect. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised with a more than reasonable price to boot. My single room was stylistically furnished in modern minimalist fashion with flat screen LED TV with cable, climate control unit, microwave, and fridge. The queen size that provided the best sleep that I've experience in a long time and the bathroom was exceptionally clean with hot and powerful water pressure from the shower. I like the Ocean Beach Hotel so much that I'm going back this weekend to take advantage of it's proximity to the beach, friends, and night life. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality!

This hotel is always a great spot, they are re-modeling their rooms and outside area and it looks great. Our room was right next to the water, and was very clean! I will def. be heading back there, the price is right and it is downtown and on the water (and the beds are soft, which is sometimes hard to find)!

I live in San Diego and just wanted to rent a hotel room for my birthday to 'get away' from my usual. I called for a single room on a Saturday night and surprisingly they had a room available. The one bedroom was reasonably priced for being right on the beach in Ocean Beach. I always walked by this hotel assuming only "rich people" could afford to stay there. The room was simple kinda like a motel 6, but the view and location was awesome. The night life is literally next door and across the street, however the rooms at night were still quite....amazing. My only complaint was that in the morning, I could hear people getting ready and gathering outside my door as they left for the day. I stayed in the courtyard (it was cheaper) and I could still enjoy the ocean view and the sound of the waves from the balcony. Also, they allow dogs and have a teacher discount!! I love OB
