My husband and I were traveling to San Diego for a short 4 day pleasure trip. The last time in SD was 40 years ago and we did not want to stay anywhere near the coast. The Doubletree Golf Resort was the perfect choice and we don't even play Golf. The hotel is not posh or elegant, but very nice with clean comfortable rooms. And the price is fantastic! The hotel rooms are all bungalow style with views of the golf course and pool. Unfortunately, most of the trees block the view because there are only 3 stories to the hotel. But we liked the privacy and the quiet was priceless. The property has lovely grounds, but no walking trails. The restaurant serves a bountiful breakfast buffet daily from 6:30 am for only $15.00, which is priced well for the available choices. Also available are a very large lap pool, a fitness center and tennis courts. Within 5 miles of the resort, we discovered Black Mountain Open Space Trails which has community parks and great hiking trails. The Resort is just off Hwy 15, so you can get anywhere in SD within 30 minutes.

Check in was a breeze and staff very pleasant. We didn't have time to check out the fitness center or play tennis or golf, but we did check it out for the future. Hotel is about 30 minutes north of San Diego and easy to get to. If in the area I'd stay here again.

This was our third time staying at this Doubletree and we will definitely stay again. I travel with three children and the staff always makes me and my kids feel welcome, that isn't always the case at other hotels. The rooms are always clean and they are nice size rooms. The staff is always helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I came to this hotel for some peace and rest. Prior to arrival, I called the hotel and spoke to Cheryl who was pleasant, engaging and accurate with her information. All front desk staff were professional and helpful, in particular Anthony. He was perfect. No attitudes here! Always a smile and a willingness to help when I approached the front desk. They don't give you funny looks when you ask for extra cookies like they do in the Atlanta Doubletree. When I called for extra shampoo and tissues, the housekeeping staff arrived promptly, with a smile and was not annoyed when I asked for one more thing. The room was cleaned very well daily, and the workmen were friendly as well. We had a fabulous stay and will recommend this hotel to our friends.
