“Great value and good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 April 2011

We stayed for eight (8) days in April, 2011. The owner/manager, Mr. Patel, and his staff were so very helpful and courteous. They could answer all our questions about attractions, restaurants, and sightseeing and offered coupons and discounts.

Mr. Patel took over the Ramada in February, 2011 and has made many improvements. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the staff kept the food replenished during the entire breakfast from 6:30 AM until 9:30 AM. So if you came late you still had fresh fruit (bananas, oranges, apples, etc.) and a good assortment of danishes, muffins, bagels, cereal, etc. You could take the food to your room or eat in the lobby or upstairs on an open balcony.

Each room has a refrigerator and a microwave. The bathrooms have been remodeled and the showers have a functional shower head that varies pressure and spray. The rooms are kept very clean by a cheerful cleaning staff. Coffee is available in the lobby at anytime and it was good. However, the room also had a coffee maker that made one cup at a time and the quality of this coffee was outstanding. Usually the coffee in most motel rooms is almost undrinkable.

We had a king size bed that was very comfortable with nice clean bedding. The room was not huge but very adequate with a table and two chairs, a computer desk with ergonomic chair, and a comfortable, overstuffed armed chair. The open closet was about 6 feet long and easily held our clothes as well as our luggage on the floor. The TV was good and had many channels including HBO.

The location is perfect. It is close to the airport, Sea World, Old Town, Balboa Park, downtown, and all the expressways.

We can highly recommend this motel.

“Your first choice hotel for Sea World visiting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 April 2011

The hotel is very close to Sea World, San Diego. It took only 10 minutes from the hotel. The room is clean and quite big. We experienced a very nice hospitalities from the hotel's general manager, Mr. Patel. If we had a chance to visit San Diego again, Ramada Sea World would be our first chice.

“New Management and Renovations for the WIN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2011

Having travelled all over the world and been subjected to many BAD hotels in the moderate price range, I was not sure what to expect prior to my arrival. I was happy with what I foud here.
I wanted a location that would be on a bus route and give me ease of access to both downtown San Diego and Seaworld. Its was only a 12 dollar taxi ride from the airport which was a nice surprise, being used to cities where fares are upwards of 35 dollars. Upon arrival I was greeted by a very pleasant young lady at the hotel desk. The lobby was clean and pristine. The cleaning staff was actively buzzing around the property and also very friendly. I was given the room key and walked my suitcase across the small parking lot to my room. Opening the door I found a very very clean room, abit on the small side, but being a single traveller that didnt matter. The bathrooms have obviously been redone as everything gleamed and looked fairly new. The shower ran well and has a showerhead that adjusts streams, hot water and pressure were great! Towels are the super absorbent kind. After a long flight the bed was very very comfortable. The mattress, which I checked, was new and clean, it had firm support and I slept well. Even though this location is on a roadway I didnt hear traffic through the night. In the daytime it got a little bit noisier but for the price I was very pleased. Waking up in the morning I went for the free continental breakfast in the lobby, it was very typical fare and very fresh.
The staff seeing my confusion as I perused the tourist phamphlets came to my rescue with a plethora of information on places to eat....things to see...where value for my dollar could be found, they were AWESOME. The hotels new manager Mr.Patel was very attentive and gave me information on busroutes , practically walking me to the bus stop.
Whatever this hotel may have been, it certainly is not that now. Other then the smallish rooms I have zero complaints about my stay. I would return in an instant.

the ony thing good about this resturant is its view. the service was horrible and the food was horrible.. DON'T be fooled that the website said its a 4 star resturant. i went to the cafe for my 21st birthday. it was a big deal. the pictures show it to be beautiful and made my jaw drop of the view but its not worth it!!

first we got there wasn't really busy mabe like 5 tables were filled. it took them 15 mins JUST to ask if we wanted water or not. then it took 35 mins before we got our food.

i ordered the shimp and scallops fettichini. the noodles were hard. and i'm not one to send my plates back but i did and ordered a steak. and because it my husband was almost done with his steak i almost didn't want to even order another plate but i did. i got the steak because my husband said it was good. they said sorry for the mess up plate but give them a few mins to get my steak for me. i order it rare i didn't think it would take that long. it took them 35 more mins!!!!! are you serious??

the menus didn't have very much on it. the drinks were limited i had to order something that wasn't even on the menu.

every time we wanted to ask our server we had to flag him down.. he never came to the table to just ask hows the food? we even had to call another watress to get our server. he did give me a few SMALL cup of clam chowder and did give me a piece of cake for my birthday

we will NEVER GO BACK ever.. and i don't recomend it all.. dont be fooled by the pictures.. please trying to save from a huge trouble!!

just listen to the name "Limited" there was no pool. the rooms were alright.. and mind you, we got the best room possible..the room had no microwave, is does have a fridge and a coffee machine i didn't use. the tv sucked. there was like 20 channels and like 10 of them were in spanish. the color of it was horrible. it came with a desk and two bedside tables. the bathroom was clean. the room was alright to stay at but would NEVER do it again.

the room didn't smell like other people had said. and other people said that people would stick pizza coupons in the door at like 8 or 9 pm and it didn't happen to us.

the breakfast was horrible!! there was only a few muffins and cinnamon rolls, toast and a few choices of juice.

the hotel i have to say was in a great location!! seaworld was literally 2 mins the zoo was less then 15 mins. the belmont was like 5 mins.

there wasn't that many good restuarants around the hotel. and it sucks beacuse there was no microwave so we could atleast reheat food but we couldn't..

the front desk wasn't really friendly. it was alright.. and we traveled from the SF all the way down to San Diego doing research but when we asked him what can we eat or go and see and he knew NOTHING. when you work in a place like a hotel where people come to visit you should atleast know whats around your hotel.

“Will never see us again”

Wow, never again will my husband and my family stay in this hotel. We arrived on a early like 1 am saturday morning and right when were unloading our bags out to go up to our rooms, we see a cockroach running from under the coach around us. Disgusting. the best part is the concierge or clerk (whatever you want to call him) just watched the roach run around our feet and did nothing. We were so disgusted and freaked to even stay at this point. However seeing how my reservations were non-refundable we just stayed but were disgusted the whole time. We did not even sleep under the covers the first night. The room is so small it does not even have a closet. The hotel looks like a old building with a bit of fresh paint and new furniture. Our room door was installed improperly as their was a big gap of space allowing air and light to come through enough to light the room from the hallway. We never tried the breakfast as my in-laws and myself were still disgusted from the roach we saw up on arrival. Last but not least was the gnats that seemed to multiply on our last night in our room. I am not too sure on how they stay in business and call themselves a Hotel. i have stayed at the Ramada branch before and I am ashamed to even think they are included. I think I will stay with the Hilton or Sheraton from now on.
