I stayed at the Beach Place in October 2005 and I couldn't have been happier. You basically get a small apartment for a cheap motel price! Not luxurious, and a little out of date, but other than that, perfect! No complaints. The apartments are clean and spacious! Walked to the beach, restaurants and shops in Ocean Beach. An absolute steal @ $59 a night! Hillcrest was a $15-$20 taxi ride, so not exactly close. However, I used public transportation (bus) from the corner at the Beach Place and was able to get to Downtown and the airport with ease.

I highly recommend The Beach Place as a gay naturist getaway that is ideally located and quite affordable for the San Diego area. I stayed there for two weeks in 2/04 and loved every minute. The accomodations are not particularly luxurious but are clean and spacious. Each of the three rental units have a small kitchen with an eating area, a living room with a foldout couch, a full bath with shower, and a bedroom. Each also has a private garden area, as well as access to the communal clothing optional area and jacuzzi in the back of the property. The owner couple, Jay and Dan, were very friendly and helpful.
