I had a really nice stay here. I got a freshly remodeled corner room; the room was average in size but very functional and comfortable. Check in was very good and parking was easy (and free).

It is a little far from the beach and such, but, near a lot of freeways. There isn't too much in the way of food immediately nearby, but if you go a few minutes away there are many choices.

Overall it was a very good stay.

Our first disappointment was no Free WIFI, we could purchase it for $9.00 a day but really every other place we stay offers FREE Wifi, why does Doubletree charge?? Second disappointment, no breakfast of any kind included...oh yes, there was 1 cup of coffee each in the room!!! Guess I should have done more research, and you can bet we will NOT stay there again. Oh yes almost forgot, the newspaper that was delivered to our door each morning was also charged for!!!

I specifically chose this place because they allow dogs. I think they put all the pets on the same floor because we ran into a couple of other dog owners. There's a little "potty area" in front of the hotel which was a convenient. The hotel is located in a business park so it its empty on the weekend. The dog got to run around.

Anyways, this is a very comfortable hotel. Free parking, cookies at check-in, a nice bar/outdoor lounge area. The pool and Jacuzzi was clean. There was a bar-mitvah going on when we stayed but it wasn't loud.

The hotel is located about a 10 minute drive to the Del Mar Dog beach. I think we were in a standard room and there was a couch, a desk, and a very comfortable bed. Booked through Hilton Honors and the staff was nice.

Not that the rooms are loud but you can hear people open and close doors.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights around Christmas. Being a business hotel, it gives drastic discount (nearly 50% off on priceline bid) on weekends and holidays. It is very conveniently located just off I-5. Going to attraction like Sea Word takes roughly 10-15 minutes. The room is standard size with very comfortable bed. I love the shower a lot. It gives quite impressive water pressure. These days, a lot of hotels are trying to be conservative and replace their shower head to limit the water volume. But this doubletree does not disappoint me on that. We had no problem with the hotel at all during our stay. There is a small fitness room with adequate equipments to burn your extra energy. There is no free WiFi in room, unless you are Gold and above with HHonor and not book through priceline/hotwire (the frontdesk staff is well informed about it). Nonetheless, you can have free WiFi in the lobby. A microwave oven is provided near the frontdesk for your convenience (for the popcorns they sell, but they will let you use).

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to both business and leisure travelers. Del Mar downtown is only about 2 miles away where quite a lot dining options are available.

Four-leg friends are allowed (maybe for a fee).
