We stayed here for five days in Sept 2011. For the most part we liked the clean facility and we were not inconvenienced by the distance from San Diego. We purposely picked it since it was a little ways out but not too far. We really liked being just a short drive from the ocean but not having to pay for ocean front rentals. A massive Southern California power outage happened while we stayed there and there was no power available but that was not the hotels fault. Communication could have been better from the staff as far as how to handle things with no power but nothing bad happened. We inquired about food safety in the restaurant due to the freezers/fridges having no power and they assured us not to worry and precautions had been taken.

Dissapointing there are no cookies on the weekend after I was told to come back around 7pm because they were not available yet, only to find they don't even serve them on those days. No hot water for coco, and was not a priority even after I requested some. Room was clean and convenient next to stairs, but the carpet seemed dirty. Parking is atrocious. Pool is cold and no hot tub/spa. Check out time was flexible which made it worth my time. Overall I think it is priced a little high since it is quite a distance from downtown and sites. The breakfast was nothing special but better than continental; premade stuff heated up. I heard kids next door and baby crying which is not the hotel's fault.

We stayed here for 3 days while doing some shopping in San Diego area. Hotel was clean, quiet and safe. The breakfast was very good and well prepared. The exit from the Interstate was a bit confusing but overall good place. Parking is located underground but the elevator is available and takes you from there to your floor.

I stayed at this Hampton Inn on a business trip to San Diego. When I arrived my room wasnt ready so I went to a Starbucks for a coffee. When I got out of the elevator I was greeted with a nasty odor in the hallway, it was horrible. When I told the front desk they tracked it down to another guest that had something like moth balls in their room, they must have dropped some in the hall. I was offered to switch rooms but my room didnt stink so I stayed and later when I returned the pungent smell wasnt as bad in the hall. I usually stay at Hamptons and this was pretty much standard, room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast is the typical fare. There is free parking in the lot and the underground garage, the hotel is close to tons of restaurants and a minute from freeways. There is no "proper" business center, there is a PC in the breakfast room which I found rather lame.
