“Comfortable, beautiful setting close to airport & transit”

We enjoyed our stay at Humphreys very much. Was exactly what we needed... Landscaping is fantastic, great for family photos, saw the parrots this time and the giant koi. Being midwinter, it was very peaceful and quiet (no concerts at this time), and we loved that our room had a patio facing the marina. Great view to enjoy your morning coffee by. Staff were also very accomodating to change our room to ground level (we had a stroller) and to put grandparents in the neighboring room! Heated pool open to 11pm was nice way to end the day too. We also didn't have a car which was one primary reason we stayed here, it's close to Bus 28 stop (5 min walk) and has free airport shuttle. Room was nicely updated with microwave and coffee machine, bathroom had no tub but nice modern sink and decent shower. No free breakfast or parking, but this wasn't an issue for us (no car), also you can get coffee and pastries a few blocks away. Nice restaurants nearby, too, for dinner - Brigantine, Pomodoro, Irish pub etc. Airport shuttle was quick and fast. We had stayed at neighboring hotels on Shelter Island before & they also have their pluses, but for this trip Humphreys met our needs perfectly.

“Secluded retreat”

A really large suite on the water, with a central pool surrounded by exotic vegetation, and conviently located. Just close enough to most attractions but slightly out of the main traffic areas. Great value.

“Polynesian Architecture Resort”

If you are a a Tikiphlle, or just love a place that transports you off to the south seas, then this is the place to visit. The resort was built in 1962 and has the perfect tropical feel. It is located on Harbor Island in San Diego and has spectacular views of the marina as well as downtown San Diego views. Within the resort you will find a huge pool with spa, tropical gardens, water falls, a small pond with ducks, macaw parotts and koi fish. Also located throughout the complex are hidden tikis. Humphrey's offers large rooms, very nicely appointed. Huge flat screen tv and a beautiful bathrooms. Happy hour can be had at the bar/lounge area with 1/2 price drinks and food. Live entertainment is enjoyable while you have pleasant views of the marina and boats. The resort is very clean and very well maintained. Also found on the property is an outdoor concert venue. I hear there are great shows there. What a great place to visit.

Room Tip: Lower rooms have access to patios.

“Excellent place to stay”

We were able to check in early which was great! A little disappointed in our "waterview" room which mostly looked at the back of the stage- but nice foliage outside our window. In the morning we were deighted with two parrots who were placed on their perch outside our window for the day. They were interactive and fun.
A big thank you to housekeeping staff, who found our cribbage board and cane- they were sent to our home in a very short time.
Would stay here again but do ask for an upper floor!

Room Tip: Upper floor or a room that is open to the marina

We celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary. What a beautiful Inn, from the setting,to our room,breath taking views,everyone was so personable, treated us like family,complimentary champagne and 2 truffles. So much to do, complimentary bike rides, to walking to the ocean to enjoy a kayaking trip,we saw shark tanks in the water,sea lions. We had an amazing time. Sea world,Zoo. Please do NOT miss Sundays brunch @ Humphreys ask for Nancy!
We are looking forward to Sept!
