I was thoroughly impressed with the Pacific Terrace. It's wonderful decor says upscale beach resort from the moment you walk in. I knew immediately that this was going to be a great vacation. The staff was smiling and courteous. My ocean view room was remarkable...large, clean, huge HD television, luxuriously framed beds. The walk to the beach is 30seconds....you're splashing in salty waves in about a minute. Nearby restaurants will deliver to your room....but why not take a 3min walk at sunset to mingle with the locals at the Duck Dive... I really love this hotel.

I used to live in pacific beach so I'm pretty aware of all the hotels in the area. I love the pacific terrace and stay there every time we come into town.
First off, get the ocean view room. It's worth listening to the ocean all night and the view is unbeatable.
The pool has a view of the ocean and i saw that they maintain it very well (although why go to the pool when there is the ocean right there?)
The AAA discount gave us free bike rentals and umbrellas to take to the ocean and a glass of wine at check in.

The room decor is very tommy bahama and gorgeous. Very quality furniture and we slept amazing!

Recommendations-
Run/walk/bike ride down the boardwalk to the roller coasters in mission beach.

The beaches are gorgeous all the way down.

Breakfast- konos, get there early cause there's a line and it's cash only

There are so many amazing restaurants in pb so have your pick. Pb is the place to get sushi and grab a drink at a bar- there are too many to name.

Every time we go I'm remember why I love staying here so much! I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a higher end yet comfortable experience in pacific beach!

Dear Guest,
It’s wonderful to hear you enjoyed your stay once again. It’s great that you took advantage of the extra amenities and of course, the beach. I agree there is a variety of good casual food options in the area and Konos is the local favorite for breakfast. Next time your with us, stop by the Reception Desk and we’ll tell you about some of the new food spots that pop up here and there. Thank you once again and we hope to see you back soon.
Warm Regards,

We went for our honeymoon and felt like kings and queens. You must stay here atleast once and I'm sure you'll want to go back just like we do. I can't wait to stay here again. PS duck dive has the best ribeye sandwich I've ever had in my life!!! We had it 33 times.

This was my 3rd stay here, obviously I love it. This time I took my boyfriend for his birthday.

Pros -
1. Location - You are RIGHT on the ocean. Okay, you have to go down some steps. A lot of food and cool places within walking distance (I highly recommend KONO'S for any meal, and of course Pacific Beach Bar and Grill for some drinks or dinner ---taco Tuesdays are my favorite!) of good food and places to shop.

2. Room - Nice rooms! We had an Ocean View Junior Suite (1 king) on the 2nd floor this time, GREAT! We spent 90% of our time on the balcony listening to the ocean and people watching. Rooms also have sink, dishes, soap, towels, coffee/tea maker...everything you could need. Very spacious and clean! They also create neat towel animals (cute for children!).

3. Hotel - Easy to find, nice under the hotel parking with access keys. Very open front desk with friendly agents! Nice clean pool and jacuzzi area, with access to their little eating area that you can buy drinks etc.

Room tip: Any room is really a good room here :)

4th annual trip and stay here: rooms, property, views & staff certainly remain wonderful. However, rates had doubled to $665 for twin ocean view room since last year (and for that matter since sister-in-law stayed 2-weeks ago). We made reservations 1+ month ago and when medical situation (surgery) came up we were told our payment was "non-refundable." So, we made to trip: at check-in we were informed that the room type we'd paid for was unavailable, but an upgrade to a suite was = another $100 per night. The suite was very nice, but a couple of features were broken & looked at by staff, but not repaired while we were there (3-nights). Even though we had purchased a stay-two-nights & get 3rd night free package it apparently didn't include the "upgrade" which we learned at check-out. What a scam! A fifth stay here is very doubtful at present.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for choosing us once again for your 4th annual visit. I am happy to hear so many things are as wonderful as the last 3 visits you had with us. The room assignment and extra fee seem confusing and unusual and we would be happy to sort it out if you could please contact us. I am sure we can restore your confidence in us once again.
Sincerely,
Angela Hansen
