“Wonderful B&B”

I had a wonderful stay at the Keating House B&B, and the hospitality was great with innkeepers who were gracious and kind and helpful. The Inn itself is beautiful and very authentic, and the room and common areas were spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The room rates are reasonable, and it is within walking distance of Balboa Park and downtown in a quiet, attractive, safe, and peaceful residential area. And the breakfasts were delicious. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast for a very pleasurable stay in San Diego. Margie DiJohn

“Beautifully kept vintage 1882 historic house in a great location.”

The Keating House has kept its original hardware (light switched, doorknobs, woodwork) from its original form. It is readily accessible from I-5 and its location provides good access to downtown SD (either walking about 20 minutes or driving) as well as being within walking distance of Balboa Park.

“SUPER GREAT B&B”

My husband and I stayed the night at the Keating House for our 1 yr anniversary and what a great experience. We stayed in the lower back cottage called the Garden Suite. The pictures on their site are right on and there was even more room than anticipated. It was like having our own apartment! There was no TV which we missed at fist especially because it was so dead quiet there. We missed the back ground noise but we turned on the radio, and found other ways to occupy our relaxing time when we were not out walking the sights. AND what sights!! This place is perfectly situated in the midst of everything!! The hosts were VERY nice and informative. Great place. loved it!!

Room Tip: the Garden Suite excellent and VERY private and VERY quiet.

“EXCELLENT, TOP MARKS”

We stayed at Keating House for 3 nights. Beautiful house inside and out and the Garden Room where we stayed was perfect - lounge, kitchen, bedroom & bathroom spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Ben and Doug are great hosts, Ben spent time telling us the best places to visit etc. and Doug cooks marvellous breakfasts (thank you Doug). Situated near lots of interesting places - a must to visit is Del Colonado Hotel on the island - just amazing, Also Ocean Beach is great, lots of antique centres so I was very happy! The Old Town also is very interesting and quaint. We had a wonderful time, thanks to Doug and Ben for all their kindness.

Room Tip: The Garden room and Chauffeur's room are in a separate building in the garden, really lovely.

“Victorian (but still very comfortable and charming) B&B”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Keating House. It was well located within 10-15 minutes of the airport, close to Balboa Park and the Zoo, and within easy reach of the different areas of San Diego and to the highway. There is on the street parking making side trips easy. Bill and Doug, the owners, are exceptionally nice and helpful. Not only was Bill helpful with suggestions within San Diego but also suggested an alternate route to Palm Desert for us to take that was very scenic and enjoyable. The breakfast was tasty and it was fun to exchange stories and ideas with the other guests. It is unlikely that you would be unhappy with any of the rooms but some are larger than others.

Room Tip: There are photos of the rooms on line. The less expensive rooms are smaller but adequate. The more...
